Hey, this is Lacey with smartcast. And I'm here today with a very own Amber who could be a newscaster because she's that good on the microphone. Hello. So thank you for joining me today. I know you're working a half a day and I dragged you over here to do a podcast because one thing that you're really passionate about here at Smart Skin is continued education. And we just finished up like what would have been a five day clinical training. Snow day cut us a day short. We had to cram a three day training into a two day training. But I think we did a really good job of it.
[00:00:53] Speaker B: Oh, absolutely.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: So you actually got to go to Arizona with me to Clear Skin and some of the devices that we were doing, doing some training on is that too. So tell me a little bit about your experience over the last couple of days.
[00:01:05] Speaker B: Yeah, so we got to do a refresh on Scarlett, which has always been one of my favorite devices. That is our micro needling that incorporates radio frequency. You get a really great lift resurfacing and it really is great for so many people. But so we did a refresh on that and then we're excited to announce that we're going to be bringing on some new devices. One of those devices is going to be the NUVA derm. That is a fractionated laser. But it's really great is you can do so many different types of treatments. You can do light treatments, you know, you can do non ablative, you can do sub ablative and then even full ablative.
Yeah. So those treatments will be with our physicians. But I'm really excited to see, you know, the results from some of those. But what's really great on top of that is you can even combine that with things like the Scarlet treatment. Just to really enhance your, your goals and, and your treatment overall. We also are bringing on two facial devices. The first one is going to be the preme. And what's really great about that one, it has a bunch of different modalities from hydrodermabrasion. We've got microcurrent, you've got radio frequency, the bore effect, and then you even have some ultrasound on that one. It has some really great.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: As well as the Vibrox with LED built into it.
[00:02:28] Speaker B: Yes, yes, exactly. So you can either do the bore or that with the led. And then the other device is actually going to incorporate some exosomes. So it's called the Aqua Firm Xs. And that one is going to have again some hydrodermabrasion. We're going to really be infusing some serums. You're going to get some exfoliation, a lot of hydration. It's going to be healing, of course, with those exosomes and then we really drive those in with some ultrasound.
[00:02:56] Speaker A: Yeah, and I love that with The Aqua Firm 2, we can do a standard 30 minute facial or we can also do the Aqua Firm Deluxe, which is going to be an hour long treatment and it also includes the exosomes that are going to be driven in with the ultrasound 2. And so it's just a really neat customizable treatment that's just going to take your medical grade facials to the next level. You can also treat with that for hair restoration as well. You can drive in the derived exosomes and then the serum, like Amber was saying, has the exosomes in there as well. So you're going to get like a double dose of those exosomes that are going to be localized for specifically what you're wanting to address with that treatment outcome. And then we did get to also do a retraining certification on our ipl, which is so cool because we've had this device for probably 12 years now and there's always still something new to learn. As you know, the technology continues to grow and the education continues to be done on it. We're learning new things with it every single time that we do a research certification. So I think that's really fun. And it's exciting for the staff too to kind of like get re energized about a technology that they use every single day. Yeah, absolutely.
[00:04:10] Speaker B: Learning just how to do things better, you know, each time and, and different techniques and so really exciting. You know, I did an IPL today with some of those new and again it's like we're doing the same treatments but we, we're just finding better ways and ways to improve.
[00:04:23] Speaker A: Yeah, to customize.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:04:25] Speaker A: That's really what it all comes down to. And then I think it's cool too that like no matter where you go for a training or who you get for a CL trainer, you're going to learn something new in a different way. And it's not that one way or the other is right or wrong, it's just another way to look at it or another way to do it. And so I think anytime that you can add those new techniques into your skills, you're only going to give your patients a better outcome in the end.
[00:04:48] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:04:50] Speaker A: I think it was really fun that we got to do this and you know we bought this equipment earlier or later in the year, last year, and we just now have had the chance to be able to block off our schedules to do these trainings. So we kind of packed it all in in four or five days. So we're really appreciative of our patients for being so understanding with us having a little bit harder time to get in to the schedule during this time. But it's only for your betterment of your. Your treatment.
[00:05:18] Speaker B: Absolutely. And I'm excited to, you know, educate our clients more about these treatments and then, of course, perform the treatments and help them reach their goals.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: Yeah. And so with that, we just kind of wrapped up the holiday open house specials and we've got Valentine's Day coming around the corner.
[00:05:34] Speaker B: Yes, ma'am, we do.
[00:05:35] Speaker A: So tell me some of the things that you're hearing your patients asking about, hoping that things. What things are they hoping to see on our Valentine's Day specials?
[00:05:45] Speaker B: Yeah. So microneedling and of course we have, you know, different types of microneedling, but I'm hearing a lot.
Skin Pen is a big one, but Luminous is also a really great one as well. We've got some really great specials where you can do, you know, three Luminous. We've got another one kind of going back talking about some of the new devices and some of the updated training we're going to, for our Homewood location, be offering. One where we're going to be doing the Scarlet paired with the Nuverderm. And I am so excited about that one.
I just believe that we're going to be seeing some really good results. And so that's going to be one where you come in and actually same day we'll be performing the Scarlet treatment and then right after that we'll be performing the light new Nuva Derm Glow or the Nuva Glow treatment. That's going to really help with downtime, but again, really enhancing the treatment as well, doing some extra resurfacing so you get a great smoothness. But also with that lifting that the Scarlet is going to be great at providing. So I'm really excited about pairing those two. That's going to be an amazing package, so I don't want people to miss out on that. We're also going to have some packages again that are going to include the new Aqua Firm device.
Again, that one's going to be great for enhancing your treatments that you're doing, especially if you're doing resurfacing, but that's also a great standalone treatment with the Exosomes we're talking about anti aging dullness in the skin, acne. That's going to be a great one for my acne clients. Again, of course, we're doing exfoliation and hydration, but healing is a big, big part of that one. So I really, you know, I'm excited to. To have my clients do that one. And then, of course, we've got some really great injectable specials. As always, Derma PRP is one of our favorites that we have now that's a part of the injectables and is actually, you know, something that replaces like a traditional filler. So that one is. Is a great special that we have. So, you know, everybody needs to jump on top of that.
[00:07:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Two other things that I want to make sure that we mention is our new Derma fuse device that will be at our Ross Bridge location. We have a face and a body applicator for that. And it's basically electroporation. It's no needle mesotherapy. We're able to drive whatever product we want to as deep as an injection with no needles. And so it's super customizable. We've got several different serums. You can also drive in exosomes. You can drive in exosomes specific for hair loss so that you can get better product penetration. And then there's a lipotropic product that you can use on your body, too. And it's gonna be paired really nicely with our body treatments. The dermafused treatment modality at Rossbridge is gonna be one of our membership options over there. So it'll be. The face will be one of the options for the $95 membership, and the body one will be an option for the $140 membership. So I think that's gonna be a really great addition.
[00:08:46] Speaker B: Absolutely. Love how customizable that one is.
[00:08:48] Speaker C: It is.
[00:08:49] Speaker A: And you can really drive in anything you want. So they have serums that you can use, but you can also drive in your own back bar products if you want to. So we with that one. So I'm really excited about that. And then another thing that we learned about, about Scarlet and we've been through like three or four clinical trainings with this is you can treat hyperhidrosis with it.
[00:09:08] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. That was something we just recently learned this weekend.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: She said that it gets rid of sweat. For how long? A couple of years?
[00:09:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:09:17] Speaker A: One treatment.
So cool. To me, I think that's so.
[00:09:21] Speaker B: So come on down and get that treatment right before summer, before it gets hot.
[00:09:24] Speaker A: And yeah, they said that's a standalone treatment that they can do that you can also do as an add on. If you're doing your face, neck and chest, we can just go ahead, add that on for hyperhidrosis. So if you don't want to get Botox, this is definitely an option. And it's cheaper than Botox.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, and you don't have to keep coming in and getting the injections and everything.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: Yeah. So speaking of Derma prp, one of my favorite little sweetie pies just walked in the door and she happened to get Derma PRP today. Ms. Sheila Jean, welcome to the training center. Do you want to chat with me a little bit about your experience, the Derma PRP that you had? And you've been a patient here at smartscan for a really long time. Your precious little hubby just got you a gift card that he gets you every year, so you can use it however you want. So tell me about your derma prp. This is your first time getting it?
[00:10:19] Speaker C: This was actually my second dermap.
[00:10:20] Speaker A: Oh, it's your second?
[00:10:21] Speaker C: Love it.
[00:10:22] Speaker A: Good. So tell me the first time that you got it, what were you expecting it to be like?
[00:10:28] Speaker C: I really don't know what I was expecting. I did notice immediately after it that my skin changed. Yeah, it had a pretty glow to it.
[00:10:37] Speaker A: Yeah. So you're going to get a lot of angiogenesis and collagen stimulation. So you're going to see that really pretty pink glow to your skin where you just. It's almost like a pregnancy glow, you know, for real. So, I mean, it's like you're breathing new life into your skin, which I. Which is what I love about it. So you've had ha fillers in the past. So how in your mind did this compare to that?
[00:11:01] Speaker C: Personally, I like this better.
[00:11:02] Speaker A: Me too.
[00:11:03] Speaker C: I think it's a mind thing of knowing that it's more natural.
[00:11:07] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:11:08] Speaker C: And I've just noticed with doing this that my face looks healthier. I don't see the depth in my wrinkles.
I've just. I'm a fan. I'm a fan.
[00:11:20] Speaker A: Me too. Well, especially too. And I've said this until I'm like blue in the face, but there's nothing better than Derma PRP for tear troughs, for dark circles.
This is the best, hands down thing that you can do for that. I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of dark circles that I have had my entire life. My children have it now and they're like, what can I do about this on my derma prp.
But it's really the only thing that helps with it. So I love it. I love it in my lips. I love it in my cheeks. It just. It's so good. The swelling goes down so quickly. It looks so natural. It looks so great. It's so complementary with all of the other treatments that we do here at Smart Skin. It's no risk. It's just easy peasy. And it's just a great injectable skin.
[00:12:12] Speaker C: Treatment and something you can run on your lunch hour. Get and go right back to work.
[00:12:17] Speaker A: Yeah. So how long did it take you today when you were in there with Dr. Jodi?
[00:12:21] Speaker C: At the max, 45 minutes.
[00:12:22] Speaker A: Yeah. And we had to draw your blood. We spun the blood. She'll bake it. She'll, you know, create your derma PRP product that she's going to inject in. You get about 11 syringes. How many syringes did she get?
[00:12:37] Speaker C: I think it was 10 or 11.
[00:12:39] Speaker A: Yeah, about 10 or 11 with the 11ml kit. Maybe a little less, depending on how much PRP you have, and then double that if you do the 22ml kit. So if somebody needed more area that they wanted to treat, they can do the larger kit. We do a lot of the 11ml kits here at Smart Skin just because we're a little more conservative with where all we're treating for the most part. But you get a lot of product out of it. You do, and it doesn't take that long. She'll do like a little pilot site to numb the area, and then she'll use a cannula to place the product where she wants it. So there's very minimal downtime, minimal areas that you're having to worry about infection in. And that's just such a fast recovery.
[00:13:22] Speaker C: It is. And I had even botox with that. So yay.
[00:13:25] Speaker A: Yay. Two birds, one stone.
[00:13:28] Speaker C: That's right.

[00:13:31] Speaker A: Yay. So you've been a friend of my mom's as long as I can remember. And then you've been a client of Smart Skin's probably just as long.

[00:13:39] Speaker A: So you've seen Smart Skin from our infancy to now. So what do you think as a patient has contributed to our success over the years?
[00:13:54] Speaker C: Never a dull moment. You're constantly reaching out and learning new things. You always have something new to offer and you back what you do. It's not just something to have something. The product is very, very good.
And there's always Something that you can't.
[00:14:12] Speaker A: Afford for it to not work. Because this equipment is, like, so expensive. They're like little houses.
[00:14:20] Speaker C: They are. But it's worth it.
[00:14:22] Speaker A: It is. Well, I mean, you know, we have the majority of our staff, or several of our staff started out in this industry because they struggle with skin concerns, too. And so they were so passionate about correcting their skin problems that it led them to the path of working in skincare so that they could help.
And so it's just really important to us that we're able to give them the best tools available to be able to help our clients with their skin care concerns. And it's really cool to see the progress that they've made in their own skin. From the day that we hired them here at Smart Skin to today, it's night and day. They all look 10 years younger. I joke with them all the time. I'm like, you can't ever leave Smart Skin because this is Smart Skin curse you're going to turn into.
So true. Literally, Heather says it all the time. She was like, you can't trick me. I'm never going anywhere.
So, I mean, I just think that it says so much that we have patients like you and several others that have been with my mom from the very beginning and are still clients of ours today and look better today than they did back then. So it's like what you're doing has to be working.
[00:15:34] Speaker C: That's right.
[00:15:35] Speaker A: You still have clients that have been with you that long, and they look better. So I think that that says a lot about the technology and the partners that we choose to work with. And we have such an incredible team here at Smart Skin. They're all so motivated and excited to learn more so that they can give the best results to our clients. And sometimes that might be selfishly because they want to get the best results for themselves, and it just happens to be that they can also give those results to you guys.
[00:16:01] Speaker C: So true.
[00:16:02] Speaker A: And that's okay, too.
[00:16:03] Speaker C: And that's true with every one of them. There's not just one you'd pick out. It's every one of them are like that. They are great staff.
[00:16:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: Well, you can just tell by the looks on their face that they're happy to be here and happy to see the clients, and the clients can feel that and sense that, and I think that's really important.
[00:16:20] Speaker C: I agree.
[00:16:21] Speaker A: You mean you don't ever want to go anywhere where the. The people that work there hate their lives?
[00:16:26] Speaker C: True.
[00:16:28] Speaker A: So. Well, I won't keep you I just wanted to drag you on here for a minute to give your a little perspective, because it's important, and we love you and we're so thankful for you.

[00:16:56] Speaker A: So, Amber, now that you're back in the hot seat, you're one of not the newest, but one of the newer estheticians here at Smart Skin. What is it mean to you or how does it make you feel when you hear patients kind of have testimonials like that?
[00:17:12] Speaker B: I was just sitting over there, just teasing, you know, smile, you know, ear to ear, because like a proud mom over there. Well, you know, I know that I enjoy what I'm doing. And, you know, I hear, you know, from our clients that have been with us since the beginning, I mean, it really is amazing how many clients have been with us, you know, for so long, and now they're friends. They're not just clients, you know, they're friends, and we serve their families and everything. But hearing that, it just makes me really proud, you know, I'm really. I'm really proud of what I do and where I work, and it's just really exciting to, you know, for the future and just to see where things go. But, no, it just makes me really happy. It warms my heart.
[00:17:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, and I think another thing that I took away from the training over the past week, especially with Karen, is, you know, she does a ton of trainings across the country, as well as she owns her own practice. And, you know, like she said, she trains everybody around her. Her entire. All of her competition around her. She is trained. And we do a lot of training for people as well, and we do a lot of speaking engagements as well. And so for us, it's never been about, we want to be better than someone else. We want to lift everybody up to do as best as they can. And I think when it comes down to it, at the end of the day is I'm glad that everybody has an opportunity to go somewhere that works for them. And I'm glad they have a place that they can go and get these treatments that are gonna help to make them feel their best and help them with whatever area they are in their lives to be able to fulfill those things inside of them. And I just think that you really just want to give your patients the very best experience possible. And you Wanna make sure that you're never just going through the motions. And you wanna make sure that they are happy and they're getting what they're.
[00:19:05] Speaker B: Looking for, the experience from the moment that they step foot in the door till when they're done, you know, with their last treatment. Which you're never done with us because you're coming in monthly for your membership. But, yeah, I think it's about the entire experience, not just delivering a good, you know, result.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: Right. Yeah. I mean, obviously we want to give great results, but we also want to give a fantastic experience.
[00:19:27] Speaker B: We want you to be comfortable. We want you to feel safe. We want you to feel comfortable.
[00:19:31] Speaker A: There's never any silly questions or dumb questions. Don't ever feel bad about asking us anything. It's what we're here for. Like, we want to help you add skincare regimen to what you're doing. We want to help you add maintenance treatments to what you're doing. We want to make sure that if you're not seeing the results that you're looking for with the treatment series that you're doing, let's figure out why. Let's do your skin scans, let's find out what your skincare regimen is. Let's make sure that you're doing all the things that you need to be doing to get those results. And if you're not leveling up to the next thing, you're kind of starting to plateau. Let's talk about next steps.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:20:12] Speaker A: So I think it's really important that we just keep an open conversation with each other and that you're not just coming in and going through the motions and doing your treatment and then going on about your day. Let's really be intentional about the treatment protocols that we're doing and why.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:20:28] Speaker A: So just know that as a patient, we want to help you and we want to be there for you and help you figure out what's going to be the next step on your journey. Because like Amber said, you're here for life.
[00:20:38] Speaker B: You're here for life, honey. And, you know, also, it's like just to. I always try to reiterate with this with my clients, but it's like, it's not just when you're in the chair or when you're in the building. Like, we're here for you all the time. As long as we are here, you can call us, you can text us. You know, we are happy to help there. Like you said, there's no such thing as a dumb question or inquiry. Heck, most of the time I think of all my good, you know, questions once I'm home, of course.
[00:21:03] Speaker A: So, yeah, and you can text our office, too, if you get home. When you think of those questions and you want us to ask a specific esthetician, feel free to text our office and say, hey, would you mind asking Amber or Taylor or Hannah or.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: Cause you might forget by the time you come in what your question is.
[00:21:19] Speaker A: And we'll be happy to ask them and get right back to you. And we just want to make sure that everybody feels heard and understood and that we can help you.

[00:21:33] Speaker B: I was gonna say, actually, it's not just skin. Sometimes y'all help us, sometimes we help you.
