[00:00:20] Speaker A: Hey, this is Lacey with Smartcast. And we're back for our very first episode of the 2024. And out with the old and in with the new. We are already getting ready to start launching our Valentine's Day specials, so I'm joined today with Mary Margaret, our marketing director, as well as a licensed esthetician here at Smart skin. And we're going to talk to you a little bit about what to expect with these upcoming specials and what all we've got planned for you guys this year. Mary Margaret, go ahead and kick us off on some of the promotions that our clients can be expecting in these specials to come. [00:00:54] Speaker B: So the promotions for Valentine's Day is literally anything and everything you can think of. All your dreams will come true. Aesthetically, we have everything from our exclusive m face pricing. It's almost like a 20 minutes workout for your whole entire face, like a non invasive facelift. And then we have everything from dermaplanings to our special, exclusive basic services that you can choose from with your memberships every month. But we have a little bit of everything. [00:01:29] Speaker A: Yeah, I know a lot of our clients are excited about our injectable specials, too, especially to our new energet device, which is really cool. We did a clinical training on that recently, and we treated my necklace lines. We treated some stretch marks. We can treat scarring with that, which is really cool. So we've got some promotions for our energet, which is a platform that basically infuses the ha filler into the area of concern without any needles at all. It looks kind of crazy at first, but that goes away relatively quickly, especially, like, on the face. Now for stretch marks. I think that we're really excited about that because we're looking at possibly even only one treatment for that for a pretty significant difference. And I can already tell a difference in my necklace lines as well, so I think that's really great. We also are including a full package of insulpt Neo, which is a $3,000 value with our full BBL treatment. We've done several bbls so far. Our injector was trained by the creator of the BBL herself, that's from Miami. So we went out to a special training course for that. So she's done several of those already, and everybody's loving their results with the radius hyperdilute for the BBL, we're going to be treating one of our very own this afternoon while we train one of our other injectors as well on the protocol. So that will be fun. So look for our cute little video that we'll be posting about that too. [00:03:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So you will be able to actually build your booty with this package, not only with the hyperdilute, but with the M sculpt Neo, the muscle building technology with it. So it actually pairs perfectly together. And that was actually a hit when we launched it at Christmas. So we're going to continue and we just added the neo aspect to that as well. [00:03:32] Speaker A: Yeah, so they're going to get the best of both worlds with the injectables and the device technology as well. Of course, we're going to have our McElla on our specials as an availability and then a lot of our exion platform technologies will be available for the Valentine's Day specials as well. [00:03:53] Speaker B: Yeah, and we're actually launching the radio frequency microneedling. And there's two kind of protocols you can do. You can do it on your face, neck, chest, and then you can also do it like on your stomach. If you have a lot of built up fat, the radio frequency can actually go double the amount that the regular radio frequency can go. So that's going to be a great opportunity for a lot of people that we haven't been able to offer before. [00:04:20] Speaker A: Yeah, and it uses AI technology as well. So that way you are never going to over treat an area or under treat an area, which is really impressive. We love BTL's technology. We have everything that they have and this definitely does not disappoint. We've been really excited about our exion treatment results as well. Mary Margaret, what are you looking forward to with a Valentine's Day event? I know we always do something really special for our clients coming in that day. In addition to the promotions and the specials that we're doing, we always have like a really fun event and we have the food and drinks and we always do something special for the clients that are scheduled that day. So if you're not already scheduled for your February appointment, definitely try to get in that day if you can. [00:06:15] Speaker B: Yeah, and I think it's really important. The skincare refresher, we have a lot of specials on services, but in between those services, what you're doing at home is very important, like what skincare you're using. And we have all medical grade skincare, so it's really important to enhance your treatments that you're getting at smart skin, and it's what you're doing at home that makes a big difference. And then we can come in and do the major procedures. But every day is very important. [00:06:46] Speaker A: Yeah, the skincare is like your diet to your exercise routine, where your skincare services are the workout program and the skincare is your diet at home. [00:09:29] Speaker B: I will say I am excited for Heather goodchild to come in from color science. She's like the OG. [00:09:37] Speaker A: She is. [00:09:38] Speaker B: So when you sent out the notification, I was like, is this real? Is she really coming? Because she's out in San Diego, I believe. California. [00:09:48] Speaker A: So she lives in Florida now, but she used to live in California? Yes. [00:09:52] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. So I'm really excited just so everyone can meet her and kind of. I think she's an all around, like, I mean, she's an awesome person, but one of the head people at color science. And she's an esthetician as well. [00:10:06] Speaker A: She is, yeah. She actually used to be our skin Medicare rep a long time ago. [00:10:10] Speaker B: What? [00:10:10] Speaker A: Yeah. Did you not know that? [00:10:12] Speaker B: No. [00:10:13] Speaker A: Yes. [00:10:13] Speaker B: It all comes around in one big circle. [00:10:15] Speaker A: I know it does. I love Heather, too, and I'm really looking forward to having her on the podcast in a couple of weeks and then doing that staff training with everybody. We love color science. We love being partners with them. We love that they're a small business that really makes us feel engaged in the decision making that they're doing for their products and everything that they're doing. They really listen to their partners, and that is so important to me. And I love all of their continued education, and their team is so wonderful and so great to work with. So we're really excited about having Heather in. So I'm looking forward to hearing her really educate on the importance of the SPF and the color that they use. And everything in it is for purpose. And there's nothing in there that shouldn't be in there just for funsies. Like, it's all purpose driven, and I love that so much. We did a training with them in Nashville right before scale this past year, so that was really fun to catch up with everybody. Yeah. [00:11:18] Speaker B: And a really great thing. I know at Sephora, the drunk elephant bronzing drops have been going, like, viral, but I am that person that thinks that the color signs, the flex, the bronzing, theirs is a totally better product. It has SPF included, it's customizable. And I think that is hands down one of the top products that they make. And a lot of people do love it once they try it. [00:11:48] Speaker A: Yeah. The total eye SPF is my favorite. It's like, if I could have nothing else, that's what I would wear. And I love the flex and I love their mascara. I think it's really great, too, that they have the little blush sticks. So literally your entire face can be SPF with color science. [00:12:08] Speaker B: Yes. And their lip gloss is SPF. We always forget about that as well. [00:12:12] Speaker A: But that's very important. They did a study a couple of years ago that the highest place for skin cancer was actually found on the lips. [00:12:19] Speaker B: That is one place I see sun damage is my lips. I just started noticing that. So I'll be doing more SPF on. [00:12:25] Speaker A: My lips using that SPF girl. And it's such a misconception, too, that people think, well, I'm never outside. I don't need SPF. Well, I mean, you're getting damage from even infrared, like overhead lights and stuff, too. So SPF is going to be important. No matter what season it is, no matter where your job is, no matter where you are, you're always being exposed to photo damage. And so protecting your skin is really important. And if you're going to be using vitamin C's and things like that, you need to protect those products that you're putting on your skin so that they're not evaporating, too. [00:12:59] Speaker B: Yeah. And putting lip gloss on just regular lip gloss is not protecting your skin from the sun at all. [00:13:05] Speaker A: No, it's attracting it. [00:13:06] Speaker B: Yes. The complete opposite. So, Lacey, when are we launching the Valentine's Day specials? [00:13:12] Speaker A: I believe my mom said on the 22nd? Yes, they'll be available and we'll, of course, run them all the way through till Valentine's day. And then we will have them available for purchase online. We'll be handing out the printouts of it and there will be a QR code. So if you can't purchase that day, you'll be able to just scan the QR code on the flyer and you can purchase it from wherever you are. And of course, you can put your favorite SD's name in there. I think you get like a dollar off or something if you do it that way. So you're, of course, welcome to do that. And then you're always welcome to text or call the office, and we can help you as well. So we want to make sure that you get your savings and you get your specials that you're looking forward to having. I know a lot of our members especially look forward to banking up all of their specials and then utilizing them throughout the year. [00:14:08] Speaker B: So, Lacey, what was your favorite memory from this past year? [00:14:13] Speaker A: I would say when we hired our new team members, they have been such a breath of fresh air. These girls are like the most incredible human beings ever. Literally every clinical training that we have, I know that they are going to absorb all of the information. They are going to go back and review their notes. They take it everything so seriously, and they're just so excited and motivated to learn. And that's just so refreshing to me. And I love their little personalities just blend so well with our current staff that we had before they came in and everything just feels so good. I just think that all of the personalities that we have, everybody works so well together and they're all so professional and they all just work so hard to make sure that they're giving our patients the very best experience that they can. And it's been a lot of fun being able to go through and do new clinical trainings with them and refresher trainings with the original staff and just technology changes and everything advances over the years. And so being able to kind of go back through it again and see how they've improved the training and they've improved different techniques for devices have been really good, too. So that's been a lot of fun. All the additional education and clinical training that we've been able to provide for the new staff and the original staff as well. [00:15:51] Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's really nice that we do have this team and it's all coming together, blending in, and you have to realize literally every week something is changing. In the industry of aesthetics and at smart skin and our team, we handle it and we offer these new things weekly. [00:16:16] Speaker A: Yeah, I think too our new website is so incredible. I think that it provides so much additional education for our patients too, because patients are so good about self education. And so I think that our website gives them everything that they need to be able to be well informed of what it is that they're doing. And I know that our clients really trust us and they come in sometimes and they're like, I don't know what I get, I just do whatever you tell me and that's great and we love to be able to do that. But for those of our clients that want to self educate and want to learn more about the services that they're having done, our website gives them all of the tools that they need. The virtual consultation guide has been really great. We've been getting lots of emails through the website where we're able to follow back up with those patients and go over and schedule for them to come in and get their complimentary consultation on the virtual consultation guides. So that's been really great. We're looking forward to continuing to work with lifted logic, moving forward for more newsletters and blog posts for our clients so that they can stay up to date and informed on everything that we've got going on at smart skin. And then of course, we've been working on the software development for our scheduling platform for a little over a year now. We've been testing that out with the injectable side and we're hoping in the next couple of months that we're able to move the spa side over to that as well, which is going to create such an incredible experience for not only our front desk and our estheticians, but for our patients as well. We'll be able to check everybody out under one platform for injectables and spa side, have better updates on rollover credit memberships. And all of that is going to be so much better organized all in one place, which is going to be fantastic. And I am so looking forward to that. And then of course, the three of us have been able to travel quite a bit this year while I was speaking at different conferences and we've been meeting a lot of other medical spot owners from across the country and even in Australia. My friend Dr. Gupta in Australia, we connected with her, she's fantastic. But it's just so nice to be able to be a part of a community of other medical professionals that are in this industry and helping each other out and learning from one another and helping each other to grow. I just think that it's so wonderful that we are in a place that we can help each other to be better versions of what we're doing. And it's not a competition. There's enough to go around for everybody, and we can help each other and we can be there for each other. And I just think that that's been really rewarding experience for me to be able to give back and to help other people to not make some of the mistakes that we've made along the way. So that's been really fun for me. [00:19:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I think that is one thing. I mean, we accomplished a lot of things last year, but really realizing the people around you, it's not competition. We are learning from each other, learning from mistakes, contributing, making joint decisions, and helping each other out because we live in a pretty big country, so we really need advice from across the states, and then we can come back and implement that. But I think that is something that we've always realized that, but it's just been the icing on the cake. Like, we fully understand that now. [00:19:53] Speaker A: Well, especially, too, seeing people that are full on surgeons and other places that are looking to us to say, help me, tell me, what can I do to make my practice successful? And us being able to give them advice because we've been doing this for over 25 years and helping them to make improvements in their business has been really fun. [00:20:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And I love when I see clients and they're like, I've been coming here for 20 plus years, and I'm less like, oh, my gosh. Can you tell me a little bit about your history at smart skin? And I think, and I always bring know Carmen, your mom who started the business. And I was like, did you know, like, tell me about her. Did she ever do your treatments? But it's really special. And I can't believe that smart skin has been around for so long. I think that's really special and important. [00:20:53] Speaker A: Yeah, it's really fun. Whenever I see grandmothers and moms and daughters and all the different generations of families that are coming in, and now my daughter is a part of the business as well. And so we're three generations of women inside this business as well. We had a client this year bring back a appointment reminder card that my mom had written for her from our cahaba Heights location, and it's still in our drawer. It's so cute. I'm like, I just kind of want. [00:21:20] Speaker B: To have it framed. We need to frame it for sure. [00:21:23] Speaker A: I know. So it's just been really fun, especially this year, being able to reflect on where the business started and where it is today and just seeing how successful it's become over the years and with everybody that we've added to our team just really coming together and making it to be the very best it can be. We've really enjoyed working with Dean, our APC from Allergan. He has given me a whole new outlook on the financial side of the business. And understanding the breakdown of different things. And just all of the information that we've been able to be empowered with within the business has made a really big difference in my mind in how we're able to structure different things and what makes sense and what doesn't and what our clients are asking for and being able to really make small changes, to make a really big impact and to be able to focus more on the details of every different area of everything. Also, working with our medical attorneys over the past year, I guess it's been about four or five months we've been working with them and they've been so fantastic. I feel so organized. I feel more organized in this business than I think we've ever been, which is really fun. I love organization like that. Gets me so excited. It's like my love language. [00:22:50] Speaker B: Let's not start talking about that. [00:22:51] Speaker A: So just having everything so incredibly organized and knowing that every I is dotted and every t is crossed and everything is done to perfection and our team is trained and our clients are taken care of and our front desk has really got everything together and there's just very little that falls through the cracks. And I think that that's so impressive in any business. But it makes me really proud to say that our business, I feel like so well ran that we're human, of course, and we're going to make mistakes and there's going to be problems, but I feel like we handle those things with grace. And I feel like we're known for doing the right thing and I feel like we're known for, we're not always perfect, but we'll make it right. [00:23:42] Speaker B: And the best part is, I wouldn't even call this a job because we're so passionate about smart skin, this industry. It's like you can wake up every day and go do something you love and not a lot of people can say that. So I'm very thankful for that. [00:23:58] Speaker A: Yeah. And that's kind of, I think what I was getting at with the new staff and seeing their excitement around everything that they're not just going through the motions, they're really excited to learn to the core what each of these services do and how they're going to help people and who's a candidate for it and who's not a candidate for it and how often should they do it and what can they pair it with and what skincare products are going to be best for clients and why are those skincare products best for that client? And just like really fully being invested in the details of every single thing that we do and offer here at Smartskin. And I love that because I just feel like in so many other industries, people just kind of go through the motions and it doesn't really matter to them. And I feel like at smart skin, all of those details do matter to everybody here. [00:24:56] Speaker B: So Lacey, before you make me cry, when are the Valentine's Day specials launching?
