[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:21] Speaker B: Hey, this is Lacey with Smartcast, and we are coming to you from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. We are here on our family vacation, and it is also Bailey's 18th birthday. And we're just going to talk a little bit today about what we did to prepare for this trip, what we've been doing while we're here, and what we're going to do whenever we get back home. So, Bailey, tell me, what kinds of things did you do to get ready for a vacation at the beach this week? [00:00:46] Speaker A: So to get ready for the beach, of course, I got my dermaplane. I need one of those before any event. I did some good facials about, like, probably two weeks before we left. I did my Nuva Derm, the Nuva glow setting, to make sure that my skin was all smooth and fresh for my pictures at the beach. And I was just using good cleansers, making sure I'm cleaning out my pores. No dirt, nothing like that. [00:01:19] Speaker B: Any skin care prep that you did beforehand? [00:01:23] Speaker A: I did use a good, like, exfoliant cleanser to get any, like, dead skin I had on my, like, surface layer. And I was pretty gentle knowing that I'm going to be out in the sun. So I wasn't using anything too crazy like the week before. Just my typical cleansers and moisturizers that I use. [00:01:44] Speaker B: Yeah, that's good. Well, I also did a dermaplaning because nobody wants to be hairy, scary. And then I did a diamond glow with a vitamin C infusion to help protect my skin while I was going to be at the beach. I did a M sculpt neo on my booty and also on my biceps and triceps because my arms are getting a little bit loose, so I had to tighten those back up a little bit. And then I did some laser hair removal treatment to touch up. And then I just use my regular skin care that I normally use, which is the TNS essential serum from Skin Medica, which is the makers of Botox. I use my HA5 hydro collagen, also from Skin Medica. The Hydrenity Eye Restore is my favorite eye cream. And then of course, my highest in mist, it's ph balance to help your skin products work better. And it also kills bacteria. And then, like, if you get any of the, like, itchy eyes or anything like that, it helps to kill the bacteria there as well to keep your eyes from itching, which is really nice. And then, fun fact, I was starting to get kind of a sty on my eye and I sprayed the hyacinth in my eye and it went away within a day, which was really nice. [00:02:58] Speaker A: That is very nice. I love that spray. I brought it with me to the beach. I got a little sunburn even though of course I'm wearing my sunscreen. My personal favorite, the Flex by Color Science. My new favorite is actually the Glow. I love the glow. It's really nice. It's like a good mix between the medium and the fair. It just gives a really nice glow. It's most like a foundation kind of base. I've been doing that before. Like we went out to go eat at the beach and I've just been. [00:03:31] Speaker B: Are you using the medium Flex or have you started using the new light shade that they have? [00:03:36] Speaker A: I use the glow. [00:03:37] Speaker B: You just use the glow? [00:03:38] Speaker A: Just the glow. I used to use the medium well, actually. Fun fact. I would actually take the Color Science no show and then the Elastin Hydro Tint and I would mix them and it was like the glow. But now Color Science came out with the glow. So I just use that. [00:03:55] Speaker B: Yeah, they just launched their new light shade, which I think would be a perfect match for your skin tone too, that you could try. And you can always put a little bit of the glow in that also. Yeah, they also have a bronze, which is really pretty. [00:04:07] Speaker A: I use the bronze drops as like just for mixing in, like with my moisturizer because it's. It's pretty dark. So I just use that as my bronzing drops. That's also really pretty with the. The Glow as like a makeup base. [00:04:21] Speaker B: I like to do my medium Color Science Flex with a drop of glow and a drop of bronze. And it gives you that perfect beachy look all the time, even when you're not at the beach. [00:04:32] Speaker A: It does. I love it. [00:04:33] Speaker B: Which is really nice. And then Color Science also has a body SPF which is really pretty. And it used to be a lot darker pigment than it is now, and now it's a much more natural shade. So I was a little nervous about using it, but I forgot they reformulated it and now it's really pretty. And then of course the SPF brush on sunscreen to revive. [00:04:53] Speaker A: I love the brush on sunscreen, especially for like the scalp. I love that. It's just a good touch up that I love to use. [00:05:01] Speaker B: I know Biffy was excited too when she saw that I had that in my bag. Cause she's got really light hair and she's always having to put sunscreen on her scalp. So she was like, oh, yay. I'm so Glad you brought this. [00:05:12] Speaker A: Yeah, it is really nice. I do love their brush on and. [00:05:16] Speaker B: Then like you can brush it on your ears and stuff too, which is nice. And then what are you most excited about doing when we get home? [00:05:26] Speaker A: Well, usually I typically just do lasers, but I'm probably going to do something a little bit more hydrating, maybe like a diamond glow to get off any, like, dead skin I have from being burnt. And then after that I'll probably go in like with maybe the ultrasound elite to rehydrate that skin and kind of help heal after that sunburn. [00:05:47] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm going to be getting a diamond glow with TNS to heal my skin. And then I'll probably do the aqua firm. It's one of my new favorite treatments that we offer. It is a hydrodermabrasion that infuses exosomes into the skin. And these particular exosomes are going to be helping with redness, inflammation, healing the skin so that it produces a faster healing time after anything, especially being a little bit pink from getting some sun exposure this week. And then there is the boar effect, which is going to oxygenate the skin, brings blood to the surface, makes everything really nice and healthy. There's ultrasound with a custom blended ultrasound gel that's got active ingredients in it. Ultrasound is actually used in wound healing research centers to heal burns. So it's really great for cosmetic purposes as well. And then you'll get. I'll get a nice massage after that, which I really love. As long as I lock the door, no one comes in and interrupts my treatment, which nine times out of 10, my treatment always gets interrupted by something. So I'm excited about that because I'm going to need it after a long week in the sun and the salt water and just being up later than normal because I'm a granny and I go to bed early. [00:07:13] Speaker A: That is true. [00:07:16] Speaker B: And then we also just got the new skin Better intensive, which I started using it like a, like a week or so ago. And then I totally forgot that I was in the sun and used it. And it's got aha BHA in it. And so my first day of being in the sun, even underneath the tent with SPF 50, my pigment pulled out so much it was crazy. I looked like an insane person. Which luckily it kind of like settled down after the next couple of days. But yeah, you got to be very careful with the skin better intensive in the sun because it does have aha BHA and does make you sun sensitive. So be warned. [00:08:01] Speaker A: And we brought the Aha. BHA cleanser. [00:08:04] Speaker B: Oh the cleanser. Yeah. Super sensitive. Yeah. [00:08:12] Speaker A: She's like why am I on fire? [00:08:17] Speaker B: Oh God. [00:08:18] Speaker A: So strong. [00:08:19] Speaker B: Yeah. But I'm looking forward to using it when we get back to try to treat some of the pigment. And then of course I want to. I want might do a chemical peel or another nooderm laser to try to like slough off the rest of this pigment that pulled to the surface. Because I've been trying to pull out some pigment over the past couple of months alternating IPLs and the NADERM and so I'll either do a chemical pill or another nooderm to just slough it off. [00:08:45] Speaker A: Yeah. When I get back I need to start my new round of the noderm for my stretch marks on my legs since I won't really be out in the sun or anything. So I need to do another round of that cause I've only done one and I need to do a few more of those but seems to do pretty well so far. I need to do my KP on my arms too and on my legs for that new device. [00:09:09] Speaker B: Yeah. Well and then as soon as we get back we have to work on Saturday but after that you'll be moving into your new condo. [00:09:16] Speaker A: Yay. [00:09:17] Speaker B: Where you'll be living while you're in school doing UAB online. Tell me what are some of your must have skincare products that you will be restocking in your new place that you're by yourself at? Because now you just come in my bathroom and take what I've got But. [00:09:33] Speaker A: So I'm really loving the skin suicles that we carry at our Ross Bridge location. Their toner. Yeah I'm starting to love that. Even though like typically the face wash that I use the Barrier Pro by color science it usually gets everything off my like surface layer, any makeup, any leftover moisturizer, anything like that. But it's like a good extra clean so I'm probably going to get some more of that. Definitely some more Barrier Pro cleanser some ultra light moisturizer that's a must have morning and night. Probably like another good like exfoliating cleanser like the Aha BHA by Skin Medica and then some probably new like SPF from after this trip. I'll probably need some more the LHA. [00:10:24] Speaker B: Cleanser is really good too. [00:10:25] Speaker A: I like it also yes, I love the the color science. No that was skin suitables 1. That one is really nice. [00:10:33] Speaker B: The the Barrier Pro cleanser also has a travel size and it's refillable So I brought the Color Science travel cleanser on this trip. [00:10:42] Speaker A: Yeah, that is cute. [00:10:43] Speaker B: I love it because you can refill it and just use it over and over and over again. And it's like really a good, nice amount of product for a trip, especially like for a week. [00:10:53] Speaker A: Yeah. I brought to this trip the Skin Better Refining foam cleanser, and that's been really great just because since I'm sunburnt, I didn't want to use like a gel cleanser in case it was too strong for my skin. So I just been using that foam cleanser and it's been doing great. Hasn't irritated me at all. Just still making sure I'm washing off anything left on my skin. So I've been using that because they have a good travel one of that. So I've been using that cleanser since it's lightweight, not too strong for my skin, and it's been doing good. [00:11:25] Speaker B: Yeah, that one does exfoliate a little bit, but very mildly. So they do have a really. That is a great travel size too. I love it. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like a cute little pump. [00:11:36] Speaker B: But to be a foaming travel cleanser, it's really good. [00:11:40] Speaker A: It is. I love that one. We don't have many foam cleansers too, so that's why I like that one a lot because typically we'll have like just gel and then like we have like a cream one. [00:11:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:51] Speaker A: We don't have as many, like, good pump, like foam cleansers, so I do like that. [00:11:57] Speaker B: We have been staying at a sweet family friend of ours this week, and I put together a little goodie bag for her that I'm leaving here at the house for her. And it has a TNS Essential serum, which is one of her favorites. And then she's got a cute little Color Science bag and it's got the barrier pro cleanser and some total eye eye patches, which I always travel with. I love those so much. I've actually been using some of the biocellulose mask this week, too, just to rehydrate my skin, especially after that first day. But the TNA or the little Color Science eye patches are great. And then I left her some, I believe, Color Science flex in there and something else, some other little goodie in there. But she'll be excited. She loves. She loves the skin care. [00:12:45] Speaker A: When I get back, I need to do one of the our mask that we have. I love those masks. I love the Hydrinity one because I love that product by itself. The restorative ha and their mask is so good. I need to do that when we get back to rehydrate my skin too. [00:13:02] Speaker B: That does really well on your skin when you have perioral dermatitis, too. [00:13:06] Speaker A: Yeah, it does really good. Especially like when I rash up. It does well on my forehead. I do. My forehead will get really irritated and like rashes and I'll use that mass and it will calm it down. [00:13:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:13:21] Speaker A: And I'll use like ice globes to help cool down the skin. And sometimes I have to use the soothe and protect by elastin. [00:13:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I like the soothe and protect too. [00:13:32] Speaker A: And hydrating effect to it. It does. I like also that it's like an anti itch too. [00:13:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:13:40] Speaker A: So that really does help when I get irritated from rashing. [00:13:43] Speaker B: I've also been using my DERI for hair regeneration just because it's good for hair health and so like around in, like my temple areas. It also helps reduce grays in the hair. So really I've been using it mainly for that because I got some grays growing in. So hopefully it'll reverse that gray aging in my hair and help my hair to grow back healthy and strong. [00:14:07] Speaker A: Let's hope so. [00:14:10] Speaker B: Thanks. Well, any other tips or tricks that you'd like to share with anybody on getting ready for a beach trip or what to do when they get back? [00:14:21] Speaker A: Just wear your SPF and reapply and make sure when you get back to rehydrate and exfoliate that skin. [00:14:29] Speaker B: SPF is your bff. Well, thank you for joining us on today's episode of smartcast. And we'll see you next week. [00:14:38] Speaker A: Sam.
