[00:00:20] Speaker A: Hey, this is Lacey with SmartCast. And I'm joined today with angel and Abby from Hydranity. Hydranity is one of the fastest growing skincare brands that we have brought on here at Smart Skin, and I'm really excited to talk to the two of you about the company and a little bit of the history. So thank you both so much for being here. [00:00:38] Speaker B: Thank you for having us. Yes. [00:00:40] Speaker A: So, angel, your role at Hydranity is what? [00:00:44] Speaker B: I am the national sales director. [00:00:47] Speaker A: Okay, wonderful. And how long have you been with the company? [00:00:49] Speaker B: I've been with the company since January. I actually started as a regional sales manager and was recently promoted in September. Wonderful. [00:00:58] Speaker A: Congratulations. [00:00:59] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:00:59] Speaker A: And so were you always in skincare, or did you do something different before this? [00:01:03] Speaker B: No, I've always been in skincare. I've been a licensed esthetician since 2009. Originally wanted to go to school to be a dentist, so I double majored, biology, psychology, minor in business. I wanted my job to be fun when you're double majoring with two serious majors. So that's how I essentially got into aesthetics. So started in cosmetics, went into Device from Device, hair, Skin, and then injectables Last, and then recently with Hydranity. Okay, great. [00:01:37] Speaker A: I feel like most people in dentistry are moving into aesthetics, too. [00:01:42] Speaker B: Yeah, they are. [00:01:43] Speaker A: You just skipped all that and came straight to the fun stuff. Exactly. So good. What have you really enjoyed and admired most about Hydranity so far? [00:01:55] Speaker B: There's so much to talk about. I, of course, love the product. I can't sell something I don't absolutely love, but we are the newest and greatest, right? There's no hyaluronic acid like Hydranity's hyaluronic acid. We have our patented process. But I also love the culture. I love our leadership. We have some really great people. Our CEO, Keith O'Brien, such a great person, such a great mentor. Our VP of Sales, Kevin Gallagher. Absolutely love him. He's a great mentor, as well. So it's the culture. But most importantly, it's also our regional sales manager. We have Abby here. Every person that I've had the opportunity to do a ride along with, they work so hard, and they love this company as if it's their own little baby company. And I just adore seeing all of them working so hard, and I love that. I love that about it. [00:02:51] Speaker A: That makes a big difference who you get to work with every single day, and it makes it fun, and especially if you're working with an incredible product like Hydranity obviously is. It makes your job easy. So Abby brought me some samples of Hydranity back in June right before I went to the beach, and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I don't think I ever skipped a beat. I've just been using it nonstop since then. And then you guys launched the new Eye product and the Vivid, so I just added that right into my routine, and I'm so happy with my results from it. It's been really great for me, and my children use it as well. It's good for the whole family. [00:03:33] Speaker B: I love that. I say the two hardest parts of the job is number one, explaining the science and then number two, getting the commitment to try it because after that the product sells itself. [00:03:43] Speaker A: It does? [00:03:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:44] Speaker A: I mean it creates a loyalist type of patient with this product. They love it. And then especially the kit with the hypochlorous acid and the restorative is great for post procedure. It's just an easy education to our patients. They all have just been loving the product all around. Do you guys see anything else coming to the mix anytime soon or are. [00:04:17] Speaker B: You guys maybe okay, I can't say we are a growing brand, right? We just launched about a year ago and we are definitely continuing to grow. So we're not stopping with where we're at. Absolutely not. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Perfect. So tell me a little bit about the science behind each of the SKUs that you currently have. [00:04:40] Speaker B: So the science all starts with our hyaluronic acid. We have a supercharged hyaluronic acid, our manufacturing process, we have a patent on that. And we also have our polypeptide matrix, which is going to be our six antioxidants and peptides that we have attached to our Ha as a delivery system. So it's our hyaluronic acid plus our polypeptide matrix that makes hydranity, hydranity. And then as far as our renewing antiaging serum, we have our Ha, we have our Ppm six, but we also have an additional peptide that will actually help with not just tightening and plumping the skin, but also lifting our restorative healing ha. Again, you're still getting your hyaluronic acid, you're getting your polypeptide matrix, but then you are also getting Agastache Mexicana, which brings down the temperature in the skin by one degree. It's a great product to use post procedure, but it's also great for anyone that tends to have inflamed skin and wants to have that inflammation to come down and has a little bit of that irritation. Our eye renew complex. You're getting your Ha, you're getting your polypeptide matrix, but we have six additional ingredients that are specific to the eye area. We have Crisin, we also have our acetyl tetrapeptide five, which is a peptide specific to the eye area and that's also going to address all signs of aging around the eye. Our Vivid Brightening serum. Our Vivid Brightening spear. We're actually introducing a completely new technology. With that we have our RPH technology which will repair, prevent, as well as hydrate the skin. Over 14 active ingredients in Vivid. You're getting amazing results hydroquinone free. You have your Hexyl resourceanol, and of course our Hyacinth purifying mist that everyone is raving about. And again, it's the manufacturing process. With that we have a proprietary blend of sodium phosphate in our Hyacin and then of course, we have our hypochlorous acid. [00:06:45] Speaker A: Yeah, and then I love too that the Vivid. Our patients with melasma are seeing such great results with that. I know Dr. Jodie Lynn has shown everyone her before and after photos and she's pregnant, so it's pregnancy safe, which is amazing. And then she has been really happy with her results. With the Vivid, she tells everybody about hydranity. [00:07:09] Speaker B: I call it a treatment in a mean you use Vivid once and you're like, oh, I already saw a difference. And within seven days you're just getting much more dramatic results. [00:07:18] Speaker A: Yeah. And so with a lot of other melanin inhibitor products, they tend to feel a little bit dried out. And so you were saying that y'alls have some hydration components to it as well, so they're not getting dried out while they're using this product, which is great. So Abby, you have been in skincare for a while now as well. What has been the biggest change in your opinion, working with this company and these products in comparison to some things that you've used in the past? [00:07:47] Speaker C: It would probably be right along line with what angel was saying. The product itself, it's just mind blowing to me. And like she was once, once you try it, you see for yourself. And that was really what reeled me in and then getting to know the culture and knowing where the company came from. We started in regenerative medicine, and when I started, my passion is kind of ha and wound care. And so when I found hydrinity, it was kind of like the perfect marriage of those two. And I love that it kind of stepped out into the aesthetic arena when they had the idea of, hey, if this is treating skin that's so severely compromised, you know, what, what will it do on skin that's not yeah, I. [00:08:43] Speaker A: Love too, that it's very simplified. Yes. I feel like that in a world where you can have somebody on a twelve step regimen, people are getting a little bit overwhelmed with that and I think they appreciate the simplicity of this line as well. It's just easy to use and it's easy to stick with it. So that's why another one of the reasons why I've loved it so much is because even on nights that I'm really tired, I can easily do this regimen without being worn out and skipping it. So I really like that it is a simplified skincare regimen that you're going to get amazing benefits from. [00:09:22] Speaker C: And I like that it's not aggressive. I'm able to get rid of my pigment, but I don't have to time it right where I'm not flaking for some special occasion or something like that. [00:09:39] Speaker A: Right, yeah. And speaking of it's so gentle. I was telling you guys before we started that my twelve, almost 13 year old uses the hypochlorous acid and the restorative and it has changed her skin. I mean, she doesn't have blackheads anymore. Her skin is clear. She feels confident in her skin now, and like most twelve year olds, she was trying to use, like, drunk elephant and things like that. And once we got her moved over to this skincare, her skin doesn't get irritated. It's not too much for her, and she's been really happy with her results from it. So she's coming next weekend for her birthday to have her little friends come and get a facial at the spa. And then we're going to put together a little goodie bag for them. So I want to make sure that we have some hydranity in the little goodie bags for the girls. [00:10:31] Speaker C: They will definitely have some hydranity treats, for sure. [00:10:34] Speaker A: So you're telling me, angel, that even though hydranity does have some great active ingredients in it, what is it about the process and the manufacturing that makes it safe for 1213 year old, 1516 year old girls? [00:10:50] Speaker B: It's really the formulation. So we have a lot of active ingredients in all of our products, but it's that formulation putting in the precision of it, making sure that we're having the correct amount of each percentage of every ingredient so that it's giving you results, but it's not giving you any type of irritation or downtime. I also have an eleven year old, and I had her on a six step regimen. She has that teenage acne, and it was also hard for her. She's like, Mom, I'm using six steps. My acne is bothering me. But also trying to keep it compliant with her using all six steps every day, it was tough. And I swapped her over to hydranity, and we did our hyacinth and restorative serum, and it cleared up. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, to me, it's amazing to see their little pore shrink and the blackheads are gone and they're not getting the breakouts anymore. And then even for a lot of our teens that are coming in that are athletes, the hypochlorous acid has been huge for them because they can keep a bottle in their little gym bags and just spritz on their face after practice until they get a chance to get home and wash their face. So it's really helped out a lot with our teen athletes, too. [00:12:04] Speaker B: I love it because I feel like no matter what, whether you're teen, whether you're young, you're old, whether you're a man, I mean, my husband is so compliant. I used to give him products and he's like, I'm not doing this is way too complicated for me. And I'm like, two pumps twice a day. He's like, I can handle that, babe. I'm like, awesome. [00:12:25] Speaker A: I know. I need to get my husband on the antiaging, because, like, your husband, he doesn't want, like, a huge multi step process, and he's got very sensitive skin, so it's like, less is better for him. So I definitely need to get him switched over to the antiaging. [00:12:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, think about it. Most men don't always want to get injectables. So putting them on a great antiaging regimen. Sure. I could see a difference in my husband's skin immediately. Yeah. [00:12:54] Speaker A: Well, the good thing too, about the skincare line is it doesn't matter how old you are, how young you are, or what your skin type is, it's still a great fit for you. Like, I have my twelve year old all the way up to my mom is 60. And I also use it. So from twelve to 38 to 60, it's a great fit for all three of us. So I love that you don't have to be super customized with it. It works for everybody, which is great. [00:13:24] Speaker B: Yeah. I have a couple of partners that I had one partner that had her first newborn, and he was scratching his face and so he had the little marks and he's like, I'm using Hyacinth restorative on his face. And then I had another partner, she's like, my baby had a little rash, a diaper rash, and I used the Restorative serum on his back. I'm like, well, that's a really expensive. [00:13:47] Speaker A: Serum for you to use. [00:13:48] Speaker B: And she's like, yes. He only gets the best of the best. [00:13:51] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I mean, too, with the spray, you can really think outside of the box with it, too. I use it to spray my underarms, and it helps to increase the longevity of my deodorant too. So you can use the hyacinth in lots of different ways. [00:14:06] Speaker C: If you saw my daughter Callie's little post, she loves to use it on her toys even. It kills germs and kills COVID, kills MRSA. I'm not going to be opposed to her cleaning up and it's safer than clorox. Absolutely. [00:14:23] Speaker A: It's not going to be harmful to you. So if you in a perfect world, were going to launch a next product, what would it be? [00:14:33] Speaker B: You're a great salesperson. We're not going to come out with something that isn't going to be one of a kind. If you kind of pay attention to the theme with Hydranity. Right. Restorative is very unique. Renew is very unique. Vivid is very unique. So is our eye. Renew complex and our highest and purifying mist. So whatever that does come out will be it will stand out and it will be one of a kind. I could tell you that. Okay. Yeah. [00:15:07] Speaker A: And that's another thing that I just truly love about the company as well, is that we have multiple skincare lines that we offer. I mean, I know that not all med spas do have several different options, but we do. But your product line is not just another version of somebody else's something. It's truly unique. It's got its own little place, and we're not just duplicating something else that we have. So I think that no matter how big or how small your business is, hydranity is a great skincare line to have in addition to anything else that you may have as well. Absolutely. I appreciate that because there's so many other skincare lines that will just create their version of somebody else's product. [00:15:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:54] Speaker A: And they'll be like, okay, well, here's our version of this cleanser, our version of this melanin inhibitor, our version of this moisturizer, our version of this eye cream. So I do appreciate that what you guys launch is truly unique in the market and what it does. [00:16:12] Speaker B: Thank you for that. That's part of the job that I feel like I can speak for you, Abby, on this. [00:16:16] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:16:17] Speaker B: We absolutely love is I feel like we're going in, we're supporting businesses. Right? Because I'm not just bringing you a product. I'm not selling you a product that is going to compete with something else on the shelves. We're giving you a product that's going to help your business growth. [00:16:32] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I mean, at the end of the day, it's not my goal to have my team just switch our clients from one brand's something to another brand something. It's to educate the patient on what truly is going to be something that they need. And I feel like, Abby, you've done such a wonderful job of educating our staff and helping to empower them into feeling confident and that what they're speaking to is correct and helping them to understand who's going to be the candidate for each product and how to talk about it. And so the partnership with you guys has been top notch. [00:17:09] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:17:10] Speaker A: You guys are great partners. You're always so good to come up with different marketing ideas and things that will be fun for our patients to learn more about the brand. It is a newer company, so patient education has been obviously part of it, but our staff is so great and so knowledgeable, and they are all very good at taking the time out to educate our patients and teach them about the skincare line and whether or not it's the right fit for them. And most like nine out of ten it's the right fit for them. [00:17:42] Speaker C: Thank you so much for saying that. [00:17:44] Speaker A: Of course. Yeah. I feel like we shout from the rooftop shell's brand, even to people that aren't even in aesthetics, I'm like, you need this at your eye clinic. There are a lot of other doctors that are kind of merging into aesthetics, like eye doctors and dentists and urgent care facilities and family health facilities. And this skincare brand is a great fit no matter where you're coming from. So it's an easy sell. [00:18:15] Speaker C: And I like that there's not really any fear behind it. You don't have to worry about if I put this on a patient, are they going to get red? It's a very soothing and a very calming line, but I like that it yields some really big results really quickly. And it's, like I said, still very gentle. [00:18:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:39] Speaker A: We have the restorative on back bar in every one of our treatment rooms. In fact, I think I got my email today that my order should be here because we ran out because our staff loves to use a Restorative, especially post procedure from like skin pin and scarlet and IPL and things like that, because it does really soothe the skin and reduce that redness and irritation in the skin. So we've really been happy with the results and we don't have to worry about it irritating or creating some kind of like wild adverse reaction post procedure. So that's been really good too. So tell me the difference specifically on the Renewing and the Restorative. Ha. [00:19:24] Speaker B: So the Renewing is going to be your antiaging product, so it was going to help with plumping, tightening, lifting your skin. I say anyone over the age of 20 needs renewing in their life. [00:19:36] Speaker A: That's the one that I use. [00:19:37] Speaker B: Yes, me too. And then your Restorative is going to be your healing hydrator. So that's going to really help with calming, soothing the skin, bringing any inflammation down your post procedure product. [00:19:48] Speaker A: And so that's the one that my mom and my younger daughter both use. Is there any reason why they can't stay on that one? If they have breakouts or if they have rosacea or if they have compromised skin just on a regular basis? Would that be something that would be fine for them to stay on long term or would they eventually need to swap to the Restorative? [00:20:12] Speaker B: No, they absolutely can stay on Restorative long term. I think that's what's so wonderful about it. Especially when you're going in and you're getting a treatment, a lot of times you want to sell everything in series. That's how your patients are going to get the best results. That's not always reality, right? Someone might come in and just get one microneedling treatment, right? And then they are stuck with the product and they're like, well, I have this bottle that I'm stuck with because I can't use it long term. And so you definitely can with Restorative. I personally use one pump of Restorative and one pump of Renew every morning and every night. [00:20:47] Speaker C: I do too. [00:20:48] Speaker B: I love them both. [00:20:50] Speaker A: So what is duplicated in it and what's different about them in the formulation? [00:20:58] Speaker B: They'll both have our high molecular weight and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, and they both do have the polypeptide matrix. The restorative will have your Augustache mexicana. Your renew will have your trifloroacetyl tripeptide. [00:21:16] Speaker A: So would you have anybody use one in the morning and one at night? Or would you have them do one pump of each and just make it, mix it together or layer it like that? [00:21:26] Speaker B: You definitely can. That's what I love about our products. They're so versatile. I have partners that will share that. Some one office, they'll use Restorative during the day, they use Renew at night. I have some offices that will share with me that they use the Renew during the day and the Restorative at night. Or you could do one pump of each. Okay. Whatever makes you happy. Yeah. Hydranity is there. [00:21:51] Speaker A: My mom's going to love that because she used to use the Elastin nectar and the other peptide complex as well. And she would, like, do the first layer of nectar and then do the second layer of the restorative complex. Now, of course, she's a hydranity girly, but yeah, I'll have to tell her that she can layer those together. She'll be happy. Then maybe she won't go through a bottle so fast because I feel like every other day she's like, I need more. I'm like, Are you bathing in this stuff? So I think we gave her a back bar size last time, and she's probably already almost out of that. [00:22:29] Speaker B: The holidays are coming. You can surprise her, right? Yeah. [00:22:33] Speaker A: Abby surprise you. So the eye cream, tell me how it's different than the other eye creams. [00:22:41] Speaker B: So our eye cream will actually address all signs of aging. So it's going to help with fine lines and wrinkles. It will also help with pigmentation as well as puffiness. So again, multitasking. We wanted to create a product that was really going to address all areas of aging around the eye. If you think about a lot of times, me, myself, as a consumer, I'll buy one eye product that will do one or two of those concerns, but it won't do the third concern. So now I have to layer and use more than one eye product. [00:23:17] Speaker A: Right. [00:23:18] Speaker B: Or when I do layer, it starts to irritate and make my eyes water. And what I absolutely love about our eye renew complex is that you have all these wonderful actives and it's giving you results, but you're not having any of that irritation. [00:23:32] Speaker A: I will absolutely agree with that. I have a very difficult time with eye creams, and sometimes I can use it for a while and then I'll develop some sort of resistance to it where it just irritates my eyes and my mom's the same way. So eye creams for us are really challenging. And I have not had any trouble at all with this eye cream. I mean, my eyes just soak it up and it helps with the dark circles because I have struggle with allergies, and so I can definitely tell that it brightens my eyes up. So my husband has low lying lids. Would this be something that he could use to help bring his lids up a little bit? [00:24:08] Speaker B: Absolutely. There's definitely peptides in there that will help and will be antiaging. For me personally, I'm Middle Eastern. I always joke around like, I was born with black circles around my eyes, and I've seen such a great difference with pigmentation around the eye as well. Okay. [00:24:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:26] Speaker C: Experienced the same thing. My family is Italian, so we do have some pigment in our skin, and that was the same. I kind of felt like I've always had dark circles under my eyes, and I really didn't know they didn't have to be there. [00:24:44] Speaker B: And I love it, too, because sometimes if pigmentation is your main concern and you find an eye cream that helps with the pigment, but it didn't target the fine lines and wrinkles, they're like, well, it fixed my pigment, but it didn't fix my fine lines. It made my fine lines and wrinkles look worse. And it's like, no, it fixed your pigment, but now you're noticing the fine. [00:25:04] Speaker A: Lines and wrinkles, right? [00:25:05] Speaker B: Because you didn't notice them before. So I do love that about our Ireneu complex, since it's addressing so many things at one time, you really never have to worry about that. [00:25:14] Speaker A: Yeah. And so what ingredient is in it that's addressing the hydration? Is it an ha or what are you all using for hydration in that? [00:25:22] Speaker B: Yes. So the eye renew complex still has both concentrations of our hyaluronic acid. It has our polypeptide matrix, and then we have those six additional ingredients specific to the eye. Okay. Yeah. [00:25:35] Speaker A: And then use it every day, morning and night. [00:25:37] Speaker B: Yes. [00:25:37] Speaker A: A little bit goes a long way. [00:25:39] Speaker B: Half a pump, which is great. [00:25:41] Speaker A: And then so, lastly, the Vivid. There are lots of melanin inhibitors on the market that are available. What is it about Vivid that's so different and unique. [00:25:55] Speaker B: That'S going to be a long one. Well, if you think about it, right, our RPH technology, it will repair, right? So it repairs existing pigmentation. It's going to prevent future discoloration from coming up to the surface of the skin, and also it's going to hydrate. So we have so many different ingredients that are in Vivid. And what I love about it is we have our oligopeptide five eight sorry. That will actually stop your MITF gene from expressing. So we're not only stopping the melanogenesis process from the very beginning, but we're adding additional ingredients that will put roadblocks that will stop it in the other steps of the process. So not only is the product very efficient, it's very effective as well. [00:26:43] Speaker A: We always make sure that our patients that are doing especially IPL series are on a product like this just because it makes those treatments so much safer, too. So we really like the Vivid in combination with that type of treatment, too. [00:27:01] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. [00:27:04] Speaker A: So when do you guys typically launch products? Like will it be Q one? Q Two? [00:27:12] Speaker B: Q One. [00:27:12] Speaker A: Okay, nice. And we are also going to be adding the microsite onto our website so that our patients can purchase hydrogenity through our website and have it directly drop shipped to their doorstep, make it super convenient. And then if anybody would like to have a complimentary skincare consultation, we can definitely do that over the phone or over a zoom call if they would like to call or text our office. And we can go over your skin and help you decide whether or not hydranity is going to be the right fit for you. So how long do you think it'll be before we're able to get the microsite on our website? [00:27:59] Speaker B: Within 48 hours. [00:28:01] Speaker A: Amazing. I'll be looking for the email from you, Abby, so I can send it over to my web development team. [00:28:07] Speaker C: It'll be on its way shortly. [00:28:08] Speaker A: Yay. Well, thank you both so much for joining me today. I really appreciate you both being here, and I know you have a flight back to Vegas today. I'm sure you're exhausted, so I appreciate you being here and spending some time with us. Is there anything else that either of you want to add to? [00:28:28] Speaker C: Just thank you so much. And I want to thank y'all's team as well. Y'all have been great to work with, and just I really enjoyed it, and this podcast was so much fun. Thank you for having us. [00:28:40] Speaker A: Of course. Thank you. [00:28:42] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. No, we really appreciate your partnership, and we're very happy that you have Hydranity. [00:28:47] Speaker A: Yes, we are very happy we have Hydranity. Thank you for joining us today on SmartCast, and we'll see you next week.
