[00:01:04] Speaker A: So Jennifer, you've been a part of Smart Skin's open house for several years now. Tell me, what are your favorite things about our open house that we have here?
[00:01:12] Speaker B: I guess some of the favorite things is just the clients that come in. They're so excited and sometimes they just come in just to see us and talk and get some goodies and buy their products because they are 20% off.
So it's just so much fun.
[00:01:29] Speaker A: All the energy that you can feel. Yeah, there's a lot of build up and excitement around our open house. Every year the clients get so excited and start asking about the different promotions that we're going to be having. They are like checking their inventory at home to check and see what products that they need to replenish with their discount that we offer during this time. And of course, they love the sweet treats that we have as well. They do.
So tell me, what is your favorite thing on our specials list this year?
[00:02:01] Speaker B: My favorite thing is probably the Scarlet, the three Scarlets with the Exosomes for 1800, which is a huge savings. Costa Exosomes, which is the plant stem cell that's going to help with the downtime. It's going to also help speed up the collagen and elastin production and that's usually $300 per treatment. But we're given that free with a.

Those are the three big events that we do throughout the year. So they like to stock up?
[00:04:55] Speaker B: Yes. I already had one client, she was like, well, I'm going to buy some now. And then I'll wait towards the end of December to purchase some more just so I can spread it out a little bit more.

So have you had a chance to see our little gift bags that we're doing this year?
[00:05:10] Speaker B: I did and they're amazing. Y'all are going to love those.

[00:05:17] Speaker B: Yes, I kind of want one, but I don't think she's going to let me take one.

But yeah, so I put all those together yesterday. My back is a little sore today from putting all those together. I think we put together like 75 bags and one is a really beautiful skin medica tote bag, but it doesn't have like skin medica plastered all over it. So it's really subtle. And so it's definitely a tote bag that you can continue to use all year long, even in the summertime, to use it as a beach bag would be great. And it has a custom poured candle in it.
And then it also has some face wash towels. And then our other little bags have a cute little clear skin medica bag. All of our bags have lots of great skincare samples in it, too. [00:06:53] Speaker A: Hey, Michelle, thank you for joining me today. I've got you snagged you up real quick right before you go back for your hydrofacial with us. How many years have you been a part of Smartskin's open House? At least three. Yeah, maybe more. What's your favorite thing about our open house each year? The specials, the products, the prices are just great. And the food, of course. Now, did you schedule your appointment with us today because it was on our open house specifically, or did you just get lucky? No, when I was scheduling last month, they told me it was today, so they scheduled me to come in today because they knew I'd buy something perfect. Well, we do run our specials for almost three full months, so we give you all plenty of time to look over everything, do your research, figure out exactly what you guys want to have on your account. So we definitely want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to get the things that they'd like to put on their account. But the open house is special because we have all of the yummy food and we do the 20% off skincare products, and then we have the little giveaway bags based on what packages that you buy while you're here. So that is kind of fun to be able to take part in that part of it on our actual open house. So what are you looking towards, like, with your specials this year?
I like to buy the Smart books because that way I can mix things up, but I do like to do certain things. But last year I did the Smart Bucks, and this year I'm probably going.

[00:08:26] Speaker A: Yeah, the Smart books are great. And this year, I don't know if you know this or not, but we limited our Smart Buck purchases to members only, so you have to be a member here at SmartSkin to purchase the Smart Bucks. And it's such a great opportunity for you all to be able to do add on services and upgrades and things for half price.
So it's helped you to be able to do additional services in between your monthly services or even upgrades so that you can take your results to the next level. What are some of your favorite upgrade services that you use your Smart bugs for?
I do the micro needling and the I can't think of what it was last year.
I'm trying to see if I see it on here. Yeah. And so, like, today, you're doing a hydrofacial, and one of the things that most people like to do with Smartbucks is add boosters to the hydrofacial. So you can always add boosters to your hydrofacials. You can upgrade to the hydrofacial deluxe. You can do the Diamond Glow upgrade. You can do salt facial.
Luminous skin pin sublime for skin tightening. Sublime.
That's what I like to do is the micro needling the sublime together. Yeah. The sublime is great. That radio frequency, it goes a little bit deeper into the skin than the traditional RFT does, so you're going to get a little bit longer, result a little bit tighter look to your skin than just the RFT does, especially around the eye area. It really does like a brow wow. Lifting effect, which is really nice.
And then in the Jow area, the Sublime is really nice in that area, too.
Are you familiar with all the different boosters that we have available with hydrofacial? I am not. I would like to learn a little bit more. Yeah. So we have a lot of new boosters, too. So who are you seeing today for your hydrofacial? Natasha. She's the only one I like to see. Yeah, she's my favorite. She's fantastic. Yeah. So Natasha can tell you all about the different boosters and which ones would be most suitable for your skin, but we do have a lot of new boosters that are available from hydrofacial now as well.
So that just kind of takes your results for the hydrofacial to the next level as well, just to kind of give you that added benefit in that same service time without having to add additional time to your treatment. All right, well, I've loved being a member here, and I started out with a higher membership, but because I travel so much now and I only live here part time, I did cut it down, but I'm still able to get all the treatments that I want, and it's great. Yeah. And a lot of people, too, if they do have a higher membership and they travel, they love to be able to let those rollover credits stay on their account, and when they come in, they can use that for upgraded services, add on services, and things like that. So that's one of the nice things about our program, is that you don't lose your rollover credit. It stays on your account. And then we give you lots of different things that you can put your money towards versus just trying to double up and do a bunch of basic facial services. We give you a wide range of things that you can put that towards, because we want you to get the best benefit possible. I've always felt like I have, so I've been doing facials since I was in my 20s. I'm in my 60s.
My sister is an esthetician. Oh, yeah. So I've been running things by her, and I've done the research, and you guys offer the best bang for the buck here. And you have great estheticians. Yes, we do. We have fantastic estheticians. And that definitely makes me feel good. That your sister is an esthetician gives us her stamp of approval that we're doing the right things for you. And I know that she cares a lot about your skin and the results that you're getting. Hopefully she does, even though there might be a little sister competition, perhaps. But you look amazing. You definitely don't look 60. Your skin quality is beautiful. I know Natasha's done a fantastic job of taking care of you. She has. Well, we thank you so much for your loyalty to us. [00:13:07] Speaker D: Well, you're quite welcome. Everything looks so lovely.
[00:13:11] Speaker A: It does. It turned out really pretty this year.
We've done a lot of open houses together, definitely. What's your favorite so far about this one?
[00:13:23] Speaker D: I feel like that after doing it all of these years, we finally nailed it.
The food looks beautiful and delicious. Our specials are on point.
Our clientele is loving all of the different goodies and specials and our goodie bags, VIP bags. So this is probably one of my favorites so far.
[00:13:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
I especially love the water.
[00:13:56] Speaker D: That's kind of a joke, everyone.
I call it special water, but it's just really a simple little fix. But it tastes delicious.
[00:14:06] Speaker A: Yeah. So it has fresh pineapple and mint, and then we get the best ice ever from our friends across the street at Big Bad Breakfast.
[00:14:14] Speaker D: Thank you.
[00:14:14] Speaker A: Big bad breakfast. I know. I'm sure that every time that we come in with this giant bucket needing some ice, they just kind of roll their eyes at us, but they're so sweet and kind, and they always let us get our ice. And we really appreciate it because it makes a big difference in the aesthetic and the taste of the water.
[00:14:31] Speaker D: Exactly. But we do support them quite often.
[00:14:34] Speaker A: We do. I think I eat there like two or three times a week.
[00:14:37] Speaker D: Yes, it's delicious.
All of the restaurants in Homewood are fabulous and kind of excited. Tonight, after we close down, Homewood's having their big Christmas open house, and let's go visit a couple of our favorite places, beard and Design, that helped us put our tree up every year.
[00:14:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Thomas Art gallery next door to us. Love it.
[00:15:01] Speaker D: Soho Retro.
[00:15:02] Speaker A: The coin shop.
[00:15:03] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:15:04] Speaker A: They got some really great jewelry in there. So if you're ever at Smart Skin, make sure you stop by the coin shop and the art studio next to us. We also somewhat share parking with them.
[00:15:15] Speaker D: The art place at Thomas Art, he.
[00:15:19] Speaker A: Did our artwork over at the training center.
[00:15:22] Speaker D: Yeah, beautiful.
[00:15:23] Speaker A: Yeah, he did a really fun video of him making that and installing and all that. So that was really cute. So make sure you follow his Instagram so you can see the magic happen with that custom artwork that he did for us. And it turned out perfect.
[00:15:36] Speaker D: Yeah, it really did. And we haven't announced it yet, but our new website is out, and so we're so excited about that. And whenever you click on the little video, it is literally like a commercial lifted. Logix did an amazing job. It took us about quite, maybe a little over a year.
[00:15:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it took almost a year to complete it from start to finish. We started January of this year, and it just launched last Thursday. We have already had 17 new client submissions on the website since last Thursday, which is incredible.
[00:16:13] Speaker D: So explain to me what that means.
[00:16:15] Speaker A: So it means that we've had new clients going on our website and looking at it and then sending us inquiries about scheduling an appointment. Or they filled out the new virtual consultation tool, which is really cool because you can go on there and put whatever your concerns are. And this program will tell you every service that we have to address those concerns.
[00:16:35] Speaker D: So is that user friendly?
[00:16:37] Speaker A: Super user friendly. You can select a man or woman front of the body, back of the body, no matter what it is, it will tell you every service that we have to address those concerns. And it sends over our team a list of all of those services that were recommended to you so that we can utilize that in our complimentary consultation that we do here at Smart Skin to go over those specific services and get you scheduled right away.
[00:17:01] Speaker D: That's so probably I go on there at least once a day just to look at it because I'm so fascinated by their work.
It is so detailed and everything looks so beautiful. They sent a team down last year and they were here for a couple of days and they did all of the video and they really knew what.
[00:17:25] Speaker C: They were doing for sure.
[00:17:27] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a lot of really great content on the website, just very informative allowing our clients to really own their own education in the services that we offer. And it just gives them the empowerment to be able to know exactly what they're doing and why and that it's the best fit for them. So I love that they're able to have those tools available to utilize well.
[00:17:53] Speaker D: Tell me, switching gears back to our services and our specials this year, tell me what's your favorite? Give me your top three.
[00:18:01] Speaker A: So mPhase for sure. I did three treatments of mPhase out of the four, and I saw incredible results with that. So I'm really excited about our mPhase. I'm so excited that we're able to include the Exion as a free added value to those packages for the holiday season. The Exion is a brand new device that we have here at SmartSkin, and it utilizes radio frequency and ultrasound. So we're including that in our mPhase and our Msculpt Neo packages.
I also love the Amcella. The Amcella is the chair that you can sit on fully clothed, and it does 11,000 kegels for you while you sit there in 28 minutes. You'll do that treatment twice a week for three weeks, and then you can do a YouTube protocol for another series after that if you would like to. But it just makes such a huge difference for me. I have three children, I did a series and then I just kind of do maintenance as needed throughout the year. But it really helped me to be able to jump rope or sneeze or run or whatever I want to do without having any accidents.
[00:19:09] Speaker D: That's great.
[00:19:10] Speaker A: Yeah. And there's so many people that don't realize that they need to address that or don't know that there's something you can do to help that. And so I love that we offer that as an additional free service while they're numbing for their scarlet.
So everybody's been really excited about being able to do the Mcella while they're numbing for scarlet. Plus I just hate sitting around wasting time. So anytime that I can give any added value while they're waiting, I'm all for it.
[00:19:36] Speaker D: Yes.
After one treatment, they should be able to tell a difference. And the good news about that, it's not just for older people or women who have had a child or two or three. It's for athletes as well. So even the younger generation, they're going to see a difference with that.
[00:19:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm also really excited about a lot of the things that we're offering in our injectables space now, which is beautiful, by the way, if you haven't been by Smart Skin. Recently, we've moved our injectables room into the space that's near the front desk.
[00:20:07] Speaker C: It's much bigger.
[00:20:08] Speaker A: It's got lots of beautiful natural light.
And so we're offering hormone replacement therapy, we're offering semiglutide, we're offering threading, we're offering lots of different injectable treatments.
[00:20:21] Speaker D: Semiglutide. Explain that to me and everyone else.
[00:20:26] Speaker A: So the semiglutide is actually a peptide that it's going to help with weight loss, but that's really kind of a secondary result from that. It kind of retrains your brain and it's going to help you be healthier. It reduces inflammation in the body, it curbs your appetite and it's just going to help set you up on a healthy lifestyle change.
[00:20:52] Speaker D: That's great. Most people need to stay on that for at least four months, is that correct?
[00:20:57] Speaker A: I think it's going to vary a little bit from person to person. I personally have been on it for one month today and I feel so much better. There's such a decrease in inflammation in my body and I just have more energy because of that. I don't get headaches anymore because of that reduction in the inflammation in my body. And I've lost about nine pounds. Wow.
[00:21:20] Speaker D: Which is not too much for one month, correct?
[00:21:23] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't want to lose weight too quickly.
I had gained some weight over the last year and so I just wanted to do something that would help jump start that weight loss journey because I had already been working out with a trainer and nothing had changed in my diet. It's just a lot of inflammation that was in my body and so with this reduction of inflammation, it's just made me feel a lot healthier.
[00:21:50] Speaker D: Well, that's good.
I'm so excited. Also with the threading.
[00:21:55] Speaker A: Yeah. And the radius hyperdilute.
[00:21:57] Speaker D: Yeah. I love that.

[00:22:01] Speaker D: I know. So I said on one of the podcasts that I did this and I don't have a problem letting people know what all I had done. But I signed up to be a guinea girl and went with Dr. Jody and we were trained by the booty queen herself. Yes. So shout out to her. She's in Miami. Yes.
[00:22:25] Speaker A: The cutest, cutest girl just loved her. She was just lovely.
[00:22:30] Speaker D: She looks so young too. But they did ten and ten, which means they did ten syringes in one side and ten syringes in the other. And that sounds like a lot, but one syringe is only isn't that literally like a spoonful?
[00:22:47] Speaker A: Yeah. It's not as much as you think it is.
[00:22:50] Speaker D: No, it's not at all. So I had ten in one side, ten in the other and it just shapes and it helps with any cellulite. It just helps with the secretary spread. It just kind of makes everything spring.
[00:23:05] Speaker A: Yeah. It helps with the skin like quality too. So it's not just for volumizing your booty. It's going to help with cellulite reduction. It's going to help with the overall skin quality in the area.
I just think that it's a really unique treatment.
[00:23:21] Speaker D: And the beauty of that is you don't have to do ten and ten, which can be a little pricey, but definitely worth it. You can do five and five and then three to six months later finish out the other five and five.
So that makes it a lot more affordable. And then plus we have a firm which is a company that you can sign up with. And I think it's pretty much zero interest, isn't it? Or close to it?

[00:23:52] Speaker D: Yeah, so I did it, and I would say they asked me, did it hurt at all? And it was literally zero pain.
[00:24:02] Speaker A: Yeah, she did an injectable lidocaine first, so that makes it numb where you can't fill it. She used a little cannula, so that way she was able to distribute the product all the way through and that way you didn't have that pain from so well, I appreciate you joining me on the podcast. Grateful though. But my palate is so sophisticated. I was like mango. She loves the water. Mom, how's that? My special water. Oh, good. I thought for sure it was mango, but pineapple mint sounds more delightful. It's so fresh. It is. And unexpected. Yes. So what service are you having today? Today I'm just going to have a dermplaning and hydrofacial. Nice is my favorite. I love that. Do you get boosters with your hydrofacial sometimes? Yeah, I do. But do you have a favorite booster?
No, not really. You just do whatever they say? Yeah, whatever. They tell me that we have some new boosters. So ask them about the new boosters. Okay. So we've got lots of different options, so that way you can kind of swap it up and get something unique each time that you're here for a hydrofacial, which is nice, and you can use Smartbucks to cover the cost of that, which is great.

I honestly couldn't tell you, babe. I feel like I found you when you were in Mountain Brook many moons ago. We were there for ten years, followed you to the first homewood location, and then now here. Yeah. So you have been here for a long time. I have, and I get compliments on my skin all the time. Well, you look amazing. Thanks. Gorgeous. Thank you. I'd like to take at least a little bit of that credit. Yeah, I think so. I really think, honestly, being consistent with coming is key.
Making sure that you schedule it monthly is the way to go. And now my mom comes here, my sister comes here. Both of my nieces and I've introduced my daughters. I love that we actually talked about that a little bit in our new introductory video on our new website. Okay. So it was talking about your mom, your daughter, your granddaughter. It's like a generational place to come, because we're kind of a generational business, because my mom started it, and now I'm here, and now my daughter's here as well. My cousin works here, my brother works here. So it's the whole family. So we love that that stays true with our clients as well. Yeah. And it means so much to us that you trust us to bring your family and your friends, and it does feel nice to have the continuity of seeing you here and seeing sage here and then seeing your mom, so it's nice. Yes.
Do you have your eye on any specific special that we're running this holiday season? Always.
I did get the scarlet, which I'm really excited about. Good. I love the scarlet. I know I need so much, but that seemed to be something that I was interested in, and I need to look at more of the specials. There's probably some more stuff that I don't even know that I need. Yeah, there's some great specials on there this year. Did you know that you can do scarlet on your body too?
So I have done the one thing. It was the thing for my abdomen. Oh, so that was neo. Yes. Boom. Sculpt. So Msculpt neo is fantastic. We're running some really great specials for that. But you can treat your body with the scarlet. I did not know that. Yeah. So, like, above the knees, on your arms, your hands.

And then the arms too, so, like, if your arms get creepy or loose skin at all right here. My mom loved that. I need to tell her the scarlet works great for that. Okay. She was just talking about that the other day that she wished there was something she could do for her upper arm. Well, now she knows. Yeah. Any products that are on the holiday special? Yes. [00:34:19] Speaker A: I have Dr. Jodie Lynn with us now. Thank you. Jodie Lynn for sitting down with me in between patients.
[00:34:25] Speaker C: Happy holidays.
[00:34:27] Speaker A: Happy holidays. So this is your first year with us here at SmartSkin for a holiday open house. What's your first impressions?
[00:34:33] Speaker C: I'm very impressed by the decor, the flowers, the wreaths, the food, the beverages. Everything is just very well organized. There's a lot of excitement, a lot of buz around the office between patients and staff, and I think everyone's just really excited about these holiday offers that we're having.
[00:34:56] Speaker A: Yeah. So we found a couple of years ago that what works best for our patients is just doing our open houses throughout the regular business hours, just because people are ready to go home and spend time with their families at night and on the weekends. And our staff like to go home at the end of the day and spend time with their pets and their families, too. So we have a much busier open house when we do it during regular business hours. And plus, it's just kind of fun, too. Our regularly scheduled clients kind of get to experience the food and just the excitement around the open houses. Everybody always really loves our VIP giveaway bags too, so it's always just a lot of fun.
So we've got a lot of really great injection specials this year. What's your favorite?
[00:35:47] Speaker C: My favorite is probably going to be the Liquid BBL.
That is something new that we're offering. It is Hyperdilute Radius, which is a biosimulatory filler.
There is a mini BBL and a full BBL, so that's an abbreviation for Brazilian Butt Lift. It is much safer than the surgical procedure.
There's less downtime. People will have a nice lifted firm booty.
It would be great in combination with some of the M Sculpt packages.
Just really just give yourself a little glow up before bikini season next spring.
[00:36:29] Speaker A: Yes. So tell me a little bit about what the patient can expect immediately after a BBL treatment. How long does it take? What's the recovery like? How soon should they see results from that?
[00:36:41] Speaker C: So the procedure itself does not take that long, maybe 2030 minutes.
The preparation on my end is much longer than that. But for the patient, they just kind of come in, we mark them up, we just see where their asymmetries are, where their deficits are, decide where to inject, and then we do that pretty quick.
It's very comfortable for them. We use a numbing shot. There's lidocaine in the product, so it just kind of continues to work that way. Immediately after, they're going to see some lift and some of those deficits remain if it looks a little bumpy or.
[00:37:29] Speaker A: As it softens up.
[00:37:33] Speaker C: The creator of the Liquid BBL says can sometimes have a SpongeBob SquarePants look immediately after. Shoot that softens within 24 to 48 hours. And then over the next four to six weeks, the body starts producing collagen and elastin, just really helping to build that lift and smooth out skin. So it's great for cellulite dimples, for hip dips, any irregularities. People who have had a surgical BBL, but they aren't happy with the texture of their skin. This is great for them, great for patients who are post lipo, all sorts of great things. I mean, everyone can really benefit from this.
[00:38:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I remember my mom before she got hers done with you when we went to Pensacola and you did your advanced clinical training with the creator of the BBL, which was so fun. My mom was so nervous, number one, she was so nervous that they weren't going to tell her that she had a cute butt and they were all going on and on about how cute her butt was. So that was a big motivation for her. But then also it didn't hurt at all. She was so excited that it was painless, like she was in and out, no pain. It was super easy.
Now, you did ask that she not put any direct pressure on it for.
[00:38:54] Speaker C: 48 hours, about 48 hours of limited downtime where I say no exercise, no sun exposure, and no hot tubs and stuff like that. No direct pressure on your booty. And that's because you want the product to stay where it is. You want it to help get kind of integrated with your own tissue, the no sun is because if you go in the sun or go tanning, it will swell. Some people like that look, but I like to advise against it and then no hard working out just because it just will cause the product to swell and just not be or to disperse in areas that you're not really sure.
[00:39:37] Speaker A: You want it right. So I know that you use the radius hyperdollute in some other areas on the body, the arms being one of them. Where else are you using this and what kind of results are you seeing with that?
[00:39:48] Speaker C: So we can do it for the creepy skin on the neck that unfortunately I'm starting to get now that I'm over 40.
We can use it on the declare. So just kind of in between the breasts where sometimes you'll get little creases and sun damage. We can use it on the arms, the legs, especially like right above the knees where as we get older, we lose volume. And sometimes our skin will show that by just becoming a little saggier and by using hyperdilute radius, it really just drives collagen production and elastin production, firms up that tissue and gives you just an overall, just really pretty texture to your skin.
[00:40:33] Speaker A: Yeah, I love that. And I love too, that we have so many different options that we can layer together to get the most optimal outcomes. Using the scarlet on these areas is fantastic. Along with our M sculpt neo for muscle definition as well. So if you can only do one or two or all three of these things, we've got lots of different options of ways that you can address these concerns on not only your face, but now your body as well. Which I love that we are able to work on other things besides just our face. Because our face is not the only thing that's aging.
[00:41:07] Speaker C: That's very true.
Speaking of the face, however, there's one treatment that I've been doing a lot of lately. A lot of more mature women have come to me and they complain about their lower face. So that little triangle between your nose and your chin, just because that ages so much more rapidly than the rest of our face.
And by doing hyperdilute radius, it really kind of produces what I call a steamroller effect and really just helps resurface that kind of getting rid of those fine lines and wrinkles really help rejuvenate that tissue, plump it up and make it more youthful looking.
[00:41:44] Speaker A: Yeah, I love that. And it creates such a great foundation to the skin as well. So we've got some really great ha fillers as well that we can help to volumize the skin. But really focusing on creating that foundation is so important. And the radius hyperdilute does a beautiful job of that. Absolutely. So we've just recently launched our toxin membership, which we're really excited to be able to offer everyone. It's going to help people to plan their finances a little bit better when they're doing these toxins and stuff, too, instead of being hit all at one time.
So talk to me a little bit about the different toxin tiers that we have and how that's going to work.
[00:42:23] Speaker C: So we have the aqua, the gold and the platinum. Is that correct?
[00:42:30] Speaker A: Mary Margaret named them.
[00:42:31] Speaker C: Okay, well, there's three different there's three different levels. Yeah, it's basically for three different for one, two or three areas on the face. So one area being like either the crow's feet or the glabella, which are our nasty eleven lines in between our eyes.
The other area would be the frontalis or the upper forehead. So upper forehead, lower forehead and then crow's feet. Those are the three areas. If you want to get one area treated only every three months, it is $80 a month.
And that's with a year long commitment. So you can come in if you buy additional units, you can buy them at the membership price, which is $12 a unit.
[00:43:14] Speaker A: Yeah. So if they want to add like bunny lines on their nose or lip flip or their masseters or necklace lines or anything like that, they get membership pricing, regardless of whether they have a smart skin facial membership with the toxin membership, they get grandfathered into that $12 a unit as well.
[00:43:30] Speaker C: Yeah, I think that's great.
It's nice because it spreads your payment out rather than being hit with a $600 payment every three months and trying to juggle that between cards and cash. And how am I going to pay for this without my husband finding out.
[00:43:48] Speaker A: Right.
[00:43:48] Speaker C: It's kind of more or less just saying like, oh yeah, well, I have a membership to this and it's cost me X dollars a month and it just spreads that money out over the time of the year. So it's more affordable payment.
[00:44:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I love that. I'm so happy that we have been able to launch that and I think that a lot of our patients are going to respond really well to that as well.
We also, in addition to our membership program for toxin, have three different specials available. They can buy 50 units and get ten free, 100 units, get 20 free, or 150 units and get 50 free. So that's a really great value and they can just spread those out and utilize that over the course of the year or so. Sometimes we'll have a mother daughter buy the 150 to get 50 free and share that between the two of them, which we will gladly accept that. And then we have some really cool rejuvenation treatments that we're doing now as well with the Skin Viv, which is the newest product from Allergan, which is really neat. And then we're going to be stamping in some custom cocktail with our Aqua Gold. So that gives a really great delivery system as well with the Aqua Gold being able to drive in those custom formulations and not just do injectables, but make it an actual treatment. Absolutely.
And then you're also doing the PDO threads. Tell me a little bit about the PDO threads and what you're seeing with that.
[00:45:19] Speaker C: So PDO threads are two different types. There's either lifting threads or there are smooth threads. The lifting threads are good for what I like to call a non surgical facelift. It lasts about twelve to 18 months. It's really good for women who are in their late thirty s to about 50. I would say. People who aren't ready quite sure, or don't really want a facelift, but they need something to kind of lift because as we age, gravity takes over and pulls everything down.
I've seen really good results with that. Just people feel they still look like themselves, but they look like a more rested, youthful version of themselves, so they respond well to that. The other type that I was talking about are smooth PDO threads, which really help with texture. They're really great for like acne scarring, really good for fine lines in the face that don't respond or are not in the areas where we can treat them with toxin.
It just drives collagen production as well. So it's a really good combination to use smooth threads with hyperdilute radius.
[00:46:25] Speaker A: Yeah, I love that. And two, just also, if they are wanting to put off surgery for a few more years, this is a great alternative for them to go this route. And then too, just to make sure that they even would like the way.
[00:46:38] Speaker C: That they look with the facelift absolutely.
[00:46:40] Speaker A: We're also offering hormone replacement therapy, which is the bioidentical, locally sourced hormones as well as the semiglutide. So I was talking with my mom a little earlier about my personal experience with the semiglutide, but tell me a little bit more about the science behind that and why it works and who's a candidate for it, who wouldn't be a candidate for it.
[00:47:02] Speaker C: So without boring you with all the biochemical details, basically, it was initially created for a diabetic medication. It helps stabilize blood sugar, lower A, one C without dropping your blood sugar, giving you those symptoms of Hypoglycemia. What they noticed as kind of a side effect were that these patients were more sated, they felt fuller, longer, and they would end up losing weight. So how it works in that sense is that it increases our hormone Graylin, which is our satiety hormone, the one that we kind of get after a big meal where we feel like, okay, I'm good.
And then it also delays gastric emptying, so you literally stay fuller, longer, which helps drive a calorie deficit. And that's how patients lose weight. There's also some interesting science behind the neurobiology of it and how it can actually change your cravings. And so what people have noticed, too, is if they always have a glass of wine or a couple of beers at night, they're just not wanting that anymore. And that also contributes to weight loss because, as we know, alcohol has calories, right?
[00:48:14] Speaker A: Yeah. I love that. The weight loss is kind of a secondary benefit to it. It's just an overall lifestyle enhancement. And the reduction of inflammation for me has been huge.
I feel so much less inflamed all over my body, and therefore, I've not had headaches and I'm sleeping better at night. And so I feel like my overall quality of life and health in general have been improved from this medication, which is actually just a peptide, which is really cool. So I was listening to a podcast just this morning talking about how with some drugs, that you take it down, regulates your production of certain things and that this may not do that. So whenever you come off of this medication, it's not like you're going to just go back and gain a bunch of weight because it's changing that chemistry in your brain, which I think is really cool, that it does really put you on a new trajectory in your life and your habits. So I'm excited that at some point when I do come off of it, I won't have to worry about just gaining all the weight back. There you go. And then the hormone replacement therapy. Talk to me a little bit about that.
[00:49:24] Speaker C: So hormones are something I'm pretty passionate about. I've been doing work with bioidentical hormones for a few years now and having really good results with them. So bioidentical hormones are identical to what your body produces. I mean, by definition, what we do is I consult patients, ask about symptoms I've been having most of the time. It's fatigue, muscle aches, joint pain, inability to sleep or sleep irregularities, hot flashes, mental fog, inability to lose weight, especially around the middle, the central adiposity.
And so what the bioidentical hormones do is that it helps kind of relieve all of those symptoms just because if you think back to when you were in your teens, you felt pretty good because your hormones were all balanced, right? I mean, maybe not like 13, but teens, early 20s, when your hormones are actually in harmony with each other.
So we draw labs. We kind of look at where the deficits are and what we can do to improve a patient's overall quality of life. And then about a week after we get labs drawn, they can come back. We'll review all of the labs together. I'll make sure they understand everything completely, and then we can actually do a pellet insertion. So the hormones are available in little pellets.
[00:50:53] Speaker A: They're about the size of a Tic TAC.
[00:50:55] Speaker C: They go in the fatty tissue, kind of in the hip butt area.
And we just make a tiny little incision, put them in, they stay there. There's minimal downtime, maybe like four to seven days, where you can't submerge in a pool, a hot tub, lake, ocean, heavy exercise. Heavy exercise? Yeah, same thing. No leg day exercises, no lunges squats running. But other than that, they're pretty well tolerated, and patients should notice a difference within two to four weeks.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: Nice. And so how often do they need to get those pellets inserted?
[00:51:35] Speaker C: So women typically every three to four months, and for men, if they're interested, we do that every, like, five to six months.
Just because men typically get more Pellets than the women do.
[00:51:50] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I know my mom did the hormone replacement therapy a long time ago somewhere else, and she said that it really made a difference in her energy levels and just feeling better overall and getting everything balanced out. But if someone were interested in just finding out where they stand with their hormones, is that something you do as well? Just kind of an overall comprehensive consultation to help them just to understand what's going on in their body.
[00:52:15] Speaker C: And that would be the first step of this, too. And they don't have to go any further than that.
[00:52:19] Speaker F: Sure.
[00:52:20] Speaker C: So if they want to come in just for a consultation to kind of learn about the benefits of bioidentical hormones and find out where their hormones stand, then they can come in for a consultation and lab draw and then they can return, and we can just go over all the labs, and then they can decide at that point if they want to receive the hormones or if they want to just wait it out and kind of see what happens.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, we do complimentary consultations here for all of these amazing services. That we're offering now.
So the hormone replacement therapy, there is a fee for that, especially because the blood draw and the labs and all of that. But for the PDO threads, we do complimentary consultation injectables the liquid BBL, the filler, the skin beef treatments. All of those things are a complimentary consultation. The semiglutide, what are we charging for that consult? $0 for the semiglutide consult, at least for now.

So in your opinion, has this year's open house been any different than last year so far, or what is your experience with that?
[01:00:47] Speaker G: Yeah, we've kind of made it more geared towards nonmembers.
Most of our specials will greatly benefit nonmembers. And then we have a lot of good things like the Smartbucks that are exclusively for our members. So there's something for everybody, whether it's somebody who's never had a facial before or it's somebody who's been waiting all year to do a specific treatment and they just want to get a deal on it, I would say.

Our spread as far as the food and Oreo balls, everything's just really good. Everyone's eating it up.

How are you seeing clients best use these specials in combination with their membership that they have?
[01:02:56] Speaker G: Yeah, so a lot of our specials really are geared towards the bigger treatments like Scarlet, Msculpt, things like that. That's where we see the most people buying those types of packages.
[01:03:11] Speaker A: Lots of hair removal packages from Qterra.
[01:03:13] Speaker G: Which is wintertime chemical peels, IP lasers. So that kind of boosts people wanting to purchase those packages.
[01:03:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:03:24] Speaker G: So a lot of people will come for their monthly facial, whether it's something more abrasive, that the package they're getting. Like the Scarlet, they'll do that one schedule that out for their series, and then they'll come for maybe like a hydrofacial in between, which is covered by our membership. So not only are they getting discounted pricing on packaging, but they're coming for a greatly discounted monthly facial.
[01:03:50] Speaker A: Yeah. And so if your mom or your sister were going to come in and take advantage of one of these specials, which ones would you recommend for them?
[01:03:58] Speaker G: I would probably point my mom towards the Scarlet just to help with creepiness of the skin tightness lifting.
And if she didn't do that one, maybe like Diamond Glow with the booster.
[01:04:16] Speaker C: But.
[01:04:19] Speaker A: Yeah. And there's lots of different serum options, the Diamond Glow too, so it's going to be customized based on your specific skincare needs. And your esthetician will help you choose which solution would be the best for you.

[01:05:46] Speaker A: Hey, Beth, thank you for joining me today on our podcast. We're wrapping up kind of our day one of our open house for this year. How long have you been a client here at Smart Skin?
[01:05:58] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. Probably six, seven years.
[01:06:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I knew it was a long time. We were looking to see who I was coming in who might be a good fit to be on the podcast. And I saw your name on the schedule and I was like, oh, she'd be a good one. So this has been your fifth or 6th open house with us. Do you normally come on the day of our open house or does usually.
[01:06:17] Speaker B: Come around your open house?
[01:06:19] Speaker A: I just enjoy it. So what are you seeing on the specials this year that you're most excited about?
[01:06:24] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. Lots of specials. I love your smart books. Yes, I always love those. And usually I just see what you all suggest.
[01:06:33] Speaker A: Yeah. So the Smart Books this year are going to be exclusive for members, so only the members can purchase those, which is a change from what we typically do. So it's just kind of our way of saying thank you for sticking with us and being part of the Smart Skin family year over year. And that's a great way for you to be able to enhance the normal services that you're doing with your membership. And that way you can kind of do some deluxe services or add on services in addition to what you are doing monthly. What membership are you doing right now?
[01:07:05] Speaker B: I think I'm the middle tier. So what would that be?
[01:07:07] Speaker A: That's the two basic facial services or one IPL? What's your favorite service that you do?
[01:07:14] Speaker B: Oh, I always enjoy the hydrofacial. It's my most favorite. I've just had a lot of success with it helping my skin. I like dermaplaning IPL sometimes and trying to think what else I've used. I've done a lot of different things, but that's my favorite. It just really works well with my skin.
[01:07:33] Speaker A: So what specifically are you typically working on while you're here?
[01:07:38] Speaker B: Well, at my age, I really am working on a little of everything, probably.
It just helps my skin stay clear. I feel like it looks bright and it feels so good I like to come in here at least twice a month.
[01:07:51] Speaker A: Yeah, and so you can use the Smartbucks to do your dermaplaning. Also, we have tons of new hydrofacial boosters, so you can do some boosters with your hydrofacial just to take those results up to the next level. We've got a lot of really great boosters that you can add in. The Elastin Trihex technology booster is an option, as well as some skin hydrating boosters and rosatrol for redness and inflammation in the skin. So depending on what it is during the year that you're really focusing on, you can add in those customized boosters, which is really great. Also, you can do the hydrofacial deluxe. Have you ever tried that? No, I don't think I have. So the hydrofacial Deluxe includes a booster of your choice as well as Lymphatic drainage, and then you get the Led light with it as well. So it's more of an hour long treatment. And the Lymphatic drainage is really nice too, especially around this season, just because, I don't know about you, but I definitely get congested, especially when the seasons change from hot to cold so drastically like it does here in Alabama. For whatever reason, it's like goes from summer to winter overnight. But that Lymphatic drainage is really nice.
[01:08:59] Speaker B: Forward to trying that maybe next time, because that's something that would be beneficial.
[01:09:02] Speaker A: I think, for me. And then what about the diamond glow? Do you ever do that?
[01:09:05] Speaker B: I do the diamond glow occasionally. I do like that a lot.
[01:09:08] Speaker A: The diamond glow is probably one of my favorite treatments.
And then I have done two luminous treatments the last couple of months. Have you done the baby micro needling? So the luminous is a baby micro needling treatment. It's kind of like the skin pin or the scarlet, but it's going to be less invasive and less downtime. So you'll be a little bit pink the day of and then maybe kind of bronze the next day. And then I personally experience a little bit of peeling on day three and then after that it's totally fine. So, like, I had one last Friday, and then today I'm perfectly fine. No problems whatsoever.
[01:09:46] Speaker B: Beautiful today.
[01:09:46] Speaker A: Thank you. It just gives you a really pretty glow. It helps with resurfacing the skin, it thickens the elasticity, it helps with lines and wrinkles, and it gives a little bit of volume to the skin, but like in all the right areas. So definitely check out the luminous. It is 155. You can put your 140 towards it and just use that $15 upgrade off of your smart bucks. Okay, so you just want to make sure that you have just a couple of days of minimal downtime. I mean, it's not really going to be too much of off your social calendar, but it's nice to be able to add those in sometimes too.
[01:10:21] Speaker B: Okay, well, that's something I maybe can do in December.

Do you have friends or family that come here, too?
[01:10:28] Speaker B: I bring my daughter. She's a teenager.
[01:10:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:10:30] Speaker B: And she enjoys coming in here occasionally. And I have lots of friends that come.
[01:10:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:10:35] Speaker B: That's originally how I found it was years ago.
[01:10:38] Speaker A: I love that. And then I don't know if you know this or not, but anybody that you send to us that signs up for a membership, we give you a free visit of the value of what they signed up for.
