[00:00:21] Speaker A: Hey, this is Lacey with SmartCast. And I'm joined today with Isabella Grace Edwards, my middle daughter. She is going to talk to me today about some of her favorite facial services that she gets at Smart Skin and some of her skincare routine that she does at home. Thanks for being here today, Isabella.
[00:00:37] Speaker B: Hello.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: How are you enjoying your Thanksgiving break so far?
[00:00:41] Speaker B: It's good.
[00:00:42] Speaker C: Yeah?
[00:00:42] Speaker A: Not too shabby considering that you started it off with a facial, huh?
[00:00:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:00:47] Speaker A: So what treatment did you have today?
[00:00:49] Speaker B: I got a diamond glow oh yeah.
[00:00:51] Speaker A: And then did Bailey do your diamond glow today?
[00:00:54] Speaker D: Yep.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: And Alexis does it sometimes too, doesn't she? So what is your favorite thing about the Diamond Glow facial that you get?
[00:01:01] Speaker B: I like the aftermath of how my face looks very nice.
[00:01:05] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: Do you feel like your tinted sunscreen and stuff goes on a lot better after you have your facial service? Yes. So you sometimes get hydrofacial and sometimes you get Diamond Glow and every once in a while you'll get a laser genesis treatment. Do you feel like at twelve, almost 13 years old that that gives you the results that you're looking for?
[00:01:25] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:01:26] Speaker A: Isabella, so you're washing your face morning and night. Right. And what do you like to use?
[00:01:32] Speaker B: I mix it up with CeraVe and skin medica.
[00:01:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I love the AHA BHA. And you can use that as a mask too?
[00:01:41] Speaker B: Yes, it's very nice.
[00:01:42] Speaker A: And then, so for your birthday, you're going to have some friends come in to the spa and get facial services. Have you guys been talking about that?
[00:01:50] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:01:51] Speaker B: They're very excited.
[00:01:52] Speaker A: So what are they looking forward to?
[00:01:55] Speaker B: Probably just to see the difference of their skin after and before. See how much it helped them.
[00:02:02] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:02:02] Speaker A: Have they ever had a facial before?
[00:02:04] Speaker B: No, they haven't.
[00:02:07] Speaker A: And then do you know who you're wanting to request to do y'all's facials?
[00:02:14] Speaker B: Probably Alexis.
[00:02:16] Speaker C: Alexis.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: Just because she does it the most for me. And she does good.
[00:02:20] Speaker A: She's so cute. Yeah, she loves whenever you come in to do your facial services.
So the girls are going to get little goodie bags too. Did they know that they're going to get some goodie bags when they come in?
[00:02:30] Speaker B: No, I didn't even know that.
[00:02:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:02:33] Speaker A: What kind of products do you think that they would like to have?
[00:02:37] Speaker B: I don't know. It just really depends on their skin type and stuff.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: Yeah, like a cleanser and a moisturizer.
[00:02:44] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:02:45] Speaker A: Do you guys talk about skincare at school with your friends?
[00:02:48] Speaker B: No.
[00:02:48] Speaker A: You all never talk about skincare treatments or products or anything like that?
[00:02:53] Speaker B: Not really.
[00:02:54] Speaker A: You have to teach them what's up?
[00:02:56] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:02:57] Speaker A: Okay, so every morning whenever I see you in your room and you're getting ready, of course you like to do stuff with your hair, but you have a lot of good skincare products in your room.
Walk me through your routine in the mornings and at night, whenever you're putting your skincare on, you don't have to say the name of the product, but tell me the process and what you're doing whenever you're doing your skincare treatments.
[00:03:19] Speaker B: So first I wash my face, and then I use this spray and then the serum that goes with it. And then I use the different gel for, like, bumps and stuff like that, and that's pretty much it. And sometimes I use stuff for blackheads and under eyes.
[00:03:37] Speaker A: Yeah, like an eye cream for your under eyes?
[00:03:40] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:03:40] Speaker A: And do you do that morning and night?
[00:03:43] Speaker B: I mainly do it at nighttime.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:03:46] Speaker A: So whenever you wash your face, do you typically wash with two different types of cleanser, or do you just wash it one time?
[00:03:54] Speaker B: Sometimes I wash it one time, but sometimes I wash it twice.
[00:03:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:03:58] Speaker A: So you guys like to do a lot of face mask, don't you?
[00:04:02] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: What's your favorite face mask that you do? Like, is it like a charcoal mask or, like, a gel mask?
Do you like a sheet mask? What's your favorite type of mask?
[00:04:12] Speaker B: I only have the peel ones, but I prefer the mask ones.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Like the sheet mask?
[00:04:18] Speaker B: Yeah, because they make my skin feel nice.
[00:04:21] Speaker A: Yeah, we have some sheet masks at the spa.
I'll have to send you home with one so that you can use it tonight.
[00:04:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:04:30] Speaker A: So do you like to do the Pro Light therapy after hydrofacial? The light that goes on your face after the hydrofacial?
[00:04:38] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:04:39] Speaker A: That one's good because it uses the Vortex tip and suction. The hydrofacial does, and it's really good to clean out blackheads, dirt, oil, and makeup. And it uses customized serums in your skin so that way you can take off the top layer of dead skin and clean out your pores. And then it just leaves you with a really pretty glow. And then the Pro Light that you do afterwards, which is the light dome that's over your face, helps with redness, irritation, any kind of, like, post inflammatory areas where your face is breaking out. So we do a lot of hydrofacials for kids your age and a lot of diamond glows for kids your age, too.
[00:05:15] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:05:16] Speaker B: You can really tell a difference.
[00:05:18] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:05:19] Speaker A: What kind of makeup are you using? Do you use, like, a tinted sunscreen or what's your favorite go to makeup?
[00:05:28] Speaker B: I mean, my favorite is probably mascara or concealer.
[00:05:32] Speaker A: Mascara and concealer?
[00:05:33] Speaker B: Because that's really only the main thing I use.
[00:05:36] Speaker A: So you're using makeup at home? Sometimes, but mainly you like to use mascara and some undereye concealer. I know you have a couple of different ones, but you do also have my favorite, which is the total eye. Tell me a little bit about the total Eye and what you like about it.
[00:05:52] Speaker B: I like how it doesn't flake up and it doesn't make me have, like, the Panda under eyes. And it's easy to apply to. And it lasts all day.
[00:06:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:00] Speaker A: And that nice cold metal tip feels good if your eyes are puffy at all.
[00:06:04] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:06:05] Speaker A: And you know, it's got SPF in it, too, so it's protecting your eyes.
[00:06:08] Speaker B: I didn't know that. That's very cool.
[00:06:10] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:12] Speaker A: So what do you think your friends like, what questions do you think your friends would ask if they were to come into the spa and ask questions about skin?
[00:06:21] Speaker B: Probably what products to use in what order. Because a lot of my friends don't use that much skincare and they'd probably be good to know.
[00:06:30] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:31] Speaker A: So have they ever expressed any interest in having facial services done or do they mainly just ask questions about skincare products?
[00:06:41] Speaker B: Yeah, like, my best friend, she's always been wanting to get one, so she's getting one soon for my birthday.
[00:06:46] Speaker A: You're talking about Mia?
[00:06:47] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:06:49] Speaker A: So mainly most of your friends are kind of having a little bit of minor breakouts on their foreheads and around their mouth area and stuff. So about 1213 years old is a great age to start doing facial services and taking care of your skin and getting started on some really great skincare products. I mean, you don't have to have every single thing at your age, obviously, but having a few good at home skincare items and doing some maintenance treatments to help keep all that cleared out will help prevent from any long term breakouts and just keep everything under control.
Another thing I really love for kids your age, Isabella, is the hypochlorous acid that you have because that actually kills bacteria, staph. It's great for athletes. If you were going to volleyball practice, you could spray that on your face right afterwards and it'll prevent you from getting breakouts and just help keep your skin nice and clear. So that's a really good one, too, because it helps also keep your pores closed and keep you from getting blackheads, too. I feel like I've noticed a big difference in your blackheads since you started using that, don't you?
[00:07:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I've seen a big difference and.
[00:08:00] Speaker A: It feels kind of nice, too.
[00:08:01] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: So your friends that are coming in to have their facial services done, have they asked you what to expect, like, what the facial is going to feel like?
[00:08:12] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:08:14] Speaker A: What did you tell them?
[00:08:15] Speaker B: I just said it kind of tingled a little bit, but it does help a lot and it's not like, painful.
[00:08:22] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:23] Speaker A: Takes like 30 minutes, and it's relaxing and it's fun, and it's going to keep their skin nice and cleaned out, and then their makeup is going to go on really smooth or their tinted moisturizer is going to go on really smooth. And then in the summertime all the time, too. But specifically in the summertime, what's your favorite sunscreen that you use?
[00:08:45] Speaker B: I use the brush on one.
[00:08:47] Speaker A: The color science.
[00:08:48] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:08:48] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:08:49] Speaker A: It's so easy to put on, isn't it?
[00:08:51] Speaker B: And especially for your scalp because Mia uses it all the time. She loves it.
[00:08:55] Speaker A: Yeah, when you guys go to the pool. Yeah, and you can put on your ears too.
Dad always has a brush on sunscreen so that he can use it whenever he's going for walks or taking Liam to practice or anything like that. He always puts it on Liam, too, for his face and his ears and on his part.
He's always like, where's that sunscreen? The brush on stuff. I love that stuff.
[00:09:17] Speaker B: Yeah, dad loves that stuff. I always see him using it.
[00:09:20] Speaker A: He does.
So do any of the boys in your school ask about skincare products or services at all?
[00:09:28] Speaker B: I actually do know a lot of guys from my school that actually use skincare.
[00:09:32] Speaker A: They do? What kind of skincare do they talk about?
[00:09:35] Speaker B: I mean, all I really know is that they use just like, the survey.
[00:09:39] Speaker A: Face wash.
Well, that's good that they're taking care of their skin. They're, like, aware that they need to be washing their face and using skincare on their skin to keep it nice and clean. Boys used to not do skincare at all when they were younger. Sage is sitting here shaking his head no at me that he didn't maybe like dial white dial soap or something. So some tips for your friends would be to make sure that they're washing their sheets in their pillowcase at least once a week.
And then also make sure that if they are breaking out, they can switch to a fragrance free laundry detergent. And that can help as well.
[00:10:19] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:10:22] Speaker A: And to clean your cell phone, make sure that your cell phone's cleaned off. Do you clean your cell phone very often?
[00:10:29] Speaker D: Yes, I do.
[00:10:30] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:10:31] Speaker A: What are you cleaning with?
[00:10:32] Speaker B: My sleeve.
What else am I supposed to clean it with?
[00:10:39] Speaker A: Like a clorox wipe or something? The lysol wipes.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: I do that like once a month.
[00:10:45] Speaker C: You do?
[00:10:46] Speaker B: Yeah, at most.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: Wow.
